Anyone know anywhere decent to take my motor for an MOT without getting ripped off in the Leith area?

Look up the council MOT test centres online.

By law, the MOT centres that exist for all council vehicles have to provide a service to the public.

They have no incentive to rip you off because they don't sell parts. They will give you a list of the parts you need, get them fitted and take it back.

Would reccomend Simpsons Garage on Baronscourt Road.

I've been taking my cars there for about a year and wish I had found it years ago. I have 2 mots there, one with no work required and one that required a bulb replacing. Both cars are over 10 years old so I was pretty surprised both times.

Either Reiths on Gordon Street or ABS at Sunnyside.

Both are good garages with quick friendly service, especially Reiths.

Take it down to Murray at Raeburn Autos in Restalrig Rd, just behind the Lea Rig and next to Thompson's gym.

The Metro Centre along the bottom road just before Granton Square. Good guys never rip you off.
