I watched Arthur Duncan do that once. Think it was at Broomfield many moons ago and nobody paid much notice because when you played Airdrie everything got kicked except the ball :greengrin

I swear to god a Laddie did that in the Polbeth Derby on Saturday at under 9's and I turned to the boy beside me and said Thats the first time I have ever seen that and laughed. I know I shouldnt have as they are just kids but I did.
So it actually happened twice in the same day. :thumbsup::thumbsup: Brilliant. I hope the laddie watched that and feels a bit better. :agree:

That corner kick should be taken as much deserved karma for every short corner kick taken at any level of football, EVER, as they simply do not work and should be scrapped - indefinitely - from the coaching manual :agree: :agree:

I was at that game. Didnt he kick the edge of the turf that was raised above the track running round the pitch? Hurt himself too I recall or else the intervening years have been tougher than I thought.

Yip. As a boy (about 10) I met him and Joe Baker in the car park at East End Park and was obviously in awe (still would be today) and they were both fantastic. Took time to chat to me about the game and nothing was any trouble. Absolute gentlemen the pair of them.

I remember one game at ER when Hicham Zerouali was playing for Aberdeen, presumably under Skovdahl.

We were beating them - I think - but anyway the Sheepies had been giving the "Zero, zero" chant big licks all day in honour of one of their few remotely gifted players.

The guy comes up to take a corner, and manages to pap it out, on the full, for a Hibs throw on the other side of the pitch.

Cue all Hibs fans just going "Zero, Zero, Zero!!"
