My thoughts exactly. I don't think there will be any more tears shed for the the eyesore that was the East terracing when the new stand is built. Gonna be a top ground at last.

Just look at the west and imagine a new single tiered East at the same steepness as the upper tier and think how good it's going to look.

Yes 2 tiers all round would look good too - but the single tier I think will really keep the atmosphere in and will ADD to the atmosphere :agree:

I can't see from the picture - but is the entrance / turnstiles / metal gate still there ?

If you look carefully you'll see that there are covers on the pitch

They've been moving around so aren't there just to protect the east side. Hopefully they're helping with grass growth.

I'm pretty annoyed by this TBH.

I mean we announced we were definitely going ahead with the stand only a month or so ago and already work is clearly progressing. Shows what an insignificant, pathetic, wee club we really are. Everyone knows big clubs take nigh on 5 years to start work on a new stand.

Obviously for a wee team, that does not have 400,000 supporters and has supporters that sell pegs, take drugs and live in caravans:devil::wink:

The gates are still there but there's not much earth left in front of them now. The attached pictures were taken this afternoon.

Don't think they'll knock down the gates until they really need to as it's part of the perimeter of the site at the moment.

It shows how nice the other stands actually are....

Gonna be a very tidy stadium; as Alex Ferguson would say - Vewy Pwoud!

Perhaps we could incorporate an hotel or a caravan park.

I think the stadium actually looks better now than it did with the East intact.

At 40 I should be above such thoughts, but I`m really excited anticipating how the completed Easter Road is going to look.

Imagine a European night(s..) with a full house.....

Well since they've already said the funding is in place for the new East, what else can he spend it on? :cool2:

Looks like they are trying to promote grass growth with cover (I think plastic sheeting?) over 1/3 of pitch as shown in latest web cam pic from club posted yesterday...hope it works

I always thought plastic sheeting would kill off any growth in grass. So what kind of stuff is this?

Any gardeners out there care to advise?

I'm no gardener but my next door neighbour is. I've seen him every spring treat his lawn (and it is a lawn rather than a dandelion/clover patch like mine), spread some additional grass seed and fertiliser and then cover the whole thing, for a few days in a big blue tarpaulin. I don't think the colours relevent and I'm not sure exactly why it should work but it absolutely does. Puts my garden to shame every year..... the b******!

do none of you venture outside the big city to the country, just about every field is covered in some form of plastic or agricultural fleece, promotes growth, raises the temperature of the soil.

As my sig suggests, I might know what I'm talking about
