A player called Bobby Campbell who played for the Hertz in the mid-50s has died, so the minute's silence and black armbands will get an airing again.

I personally think there's a Lithuanian hitman plotting the untimely demise of several ex-players right before derbies.

Time to behave ourselves !

If there is to be a minutes silence for an ex player then that is a genuine reason. The fact that it's the Derby game should be incidental and I'm sure the vast majority of fans will respect it.

Not in jest at all lads and ladies. Admittedly it's not exactly recent (March 3rd was when it was reported) but Hearts wouldn't wait to hold a minute's silence until they played Hibs now, would they...?

Have they said they're having a silence or are we just assuming they're going to?

If there was going to be one they'd have said so by now.

Yep.

Would be surprised if there was one. Campbell only played for them three times.

3 times or not that guy played for them and by not doing a silence they're disrespecting him IMO.

That's an absolute disgrace, your implication that the number of times a player represented Hearts is a measure of the worth of a man's life.

If you had any decency you'd realise that pulling on a football shirt is, in the grand scheme of things, utterly trivial, and perhaps come to accept, however belatedly, that it's the rank he reached in their war effort that's the determining factor. If he'd had a Korea Medal, there'd be a silence all right.

If they hold one I will be raging.

There is absolutely no level they won't sink to in an attempt to discredit us.

Bunch of classless tramps. They're obsessed with us.

Now that you mention it, he did do National Service in the Navy. Maybe there will be a silence.
