Regular since 1972, and he's the worst I've ever seen to get a regular start. He has NOTHING.

Involved in just about everything we done going forward, yet again, decent ariel battle, won some balls which he was second favourite to, scored, and came close a couple of times. But he'll never be good enough for some people.

Thought stack was dodgy 1st half and the nerves spread thru the team.

Does Nish wear slippers when he is playing? Have you ever seen a player on his ass as much as the big fairy?

The amount of times the big red head ran past him to win a header was scary.

and sadly he was probably one of the better performers.

Nish: worst striker at ER in thirty years.

You are of course entitled to your opinion but if this is a serious post then it's just ridiculous IMO.

As far as I'm concerned, Colin Nish isn't even the worst striker at ER this season, never mind in the past 30 years.

I thought he had a pretty good game today and he was one of the very few who actually got pass marks from me.

We have bigger problems at the moment than Colin Nish - MUCH bigger.

:top marks
Keeper that doesn't come for a ball 1 yard from the line, centre halfs that that get caught twice by the same kind of ball to concede goals, full backs that get caught out of position time and time again, midfielders who can't pass the ball 10 yards..... I could go on and on. :boo hoo:

They all need a kick up the arse mate there is no disputing that, but time and time again Nish has been a total waste of a jersey he has been give loads of chances and never took it, best all round if we get shot of him Rankin & Hogg.

If you were to isolate every involvement Colin Nish had in today's game, or any game for that matter, I'd wager you'd think he should have done better around 75% of the time.

At the same time he gets his goal, and as Hughes says we look a (slightly) steadier side when he's there. I don't deny he contributes something, and many are over the top in their criticism, it's just unbelievably difficult to look at a lot of his actions during a game and not wonder what the hell he's playing at....

Before anyone says that's over the top criticism as well, it's just trying to summise the fairly obvious reasons why he gets so much grief. Unfair or otherwise.

Eh Celtic being a bigger club than Hibs.

That's not the point though is it? If Man Utd who are also a bigger club than Hibs were in the SPL and Hibs sold a player to them that player would still be playing at the same level - SPL. Players like Katie and Broony showed total lack of ambition by attaching themselves to a bigger fish in the same pond. If they truly wanted to test themselves at a higher level they should have gone south

Not disagreeing with you mate but they are where they are, although i hate to admit it we could do with them in our midfield now

Miller Brown Katie and Zouma...that would do nicely.

What a lot of f@~*ing SHIOTE, I am Nish's biggest critic and I think the boy put more into today than any other player.Worst player in thirty years? KONTE, DONALDSON, THE TANK, don't talk a lot o ****in shiote! :grr:

For the last time, I said REGULAR starter. And for that Nish takes :top marks1st prize.

right nish clear as day is better than benji just look at the stats this season hibs fans are daft like most teams the need someon to moan at. it was john rankin for a bit this season then he started to play decent so now nish seems to get most of the balme now. sick of hearing people slate nish as i said to the boy next to me he may not be the most gifted player in the world but ask spl player who they would least wanna play against nish or benji and i bet 99% of them would say nish.

The table never lies and it's always been a two horse race, they are miles a head of us on a playing level, not so much financial.

So we could afford to pay loan signing 65k a week

Then why did Collins target Nish when Benji was already there? Why did Mixu use him and let Benji away? Why is Hughes more likely to play Nish? And why do other SPL managers want to sign Nish, with plenty of time left on his contract, and not Benji, who would be more easily available?

Benji may be able to produce a higher standard than Nish, but Nish will produce better than Benji more consistantly. I had some diddy sitting next to me yesterday, who slated Nish from his first touch, and I took great joy in making loud, sarky comments to my mate regarding how Nish "wasn't good enough" every time he made a pass that released a player, or when he scored, or when he won the aeriel battles. The guy clearly heard me, and was seething - although to be fair, it must have been quite annoying, because i was doing it fairly regularly, such was Nish's performance for long periods.

Benji done more in the final against pish i mean Nish  's old team Killie than what Nish has done at Hibs full stop.

Hang on. You said it was only this season Nish had failed to impress you

In any event if anyone thinks the following selection of 'strikers' were better than Nish they should stop watching Hibs.

Hurtado

Tosh

As much as i want nish to be a good player he simply isnt good enough IMO to be starting every week. TBH i dont think i would even have him in my squad and there are much better strikers in the SPL who hibs could bring in in the summer. But as long as he is playing i will support him. But as someone else mentioned we have problems in other area's of the park ie right back and hopefully that position can be sorted out in the summer before we even think about strikers coming or going

Bring Byrne back send Nish packing it wont cost us anything, your spot on a right back is a must and a gritty midfielder possibly another centre half.

Should be more of a threat but isn't at this moment.

As I said elsewhere re the Ross County game, Stokes did very little but Benji, who replaced him, did even less.

I've no idea why Benji has lost it but he has whereas Nishy never had Benji's close control but still offers more to the team at this time than Benji does

One think the Nish-hating numpties are refusing to see is the progress the big man is making under Yogi.

Under Mixu, Nish was a baldy, skinny dreep. In less than a year he's put on a stone, bulked up muscle in the gym, yet gained a couple of yards of pace.

He works like a Trojan and has much more agression than last season. All this to add to a deftness of touch that belies his tall frame

Give Yogi another close season with Colin Nish and you will see a stronger, faster, fitter Nish leading the line in 2010/2011.

Derek was a good wee player however in his 8 years with Hibs, Dunfermline & Berwick he had 81 League starts & 26 sub appearances - but only scored 4 League goals
