Similar Hibs support as Killie game, plus 1,600 County fans.

What is your guess. I wonder who will be closest.:hmmm:

I'll be there for the first time since we beat Aberdeen 2v0. So can everyone add an extra one number to their prediction. Actually, make that two as I'm dragging my fairweather faither along to the game.

Two. Keep it at two. 12,002. There's your attendance.

I think the crowd will be very dependant on RC crowd. I think only 9453 hibiees...+ RC (1500 maybe :rolleyes:)

Well considering that its official that the new east stand will be 6400 in capacity, i'll assume that the west stand is also 6400.

6400 x 2 = 12800.

20250 - 12800 = 7450

7450 divided by 2 = 3725

So....

East = 6400
West = 6400
South = 3725
North = 3725

But because the east is currently a scrap heap, we will take away 6500 from 20250....

Which will give us a current maximum capacity of:

13850

:nerd:

But why would the West be the same capacity as the new East when they are two separate designs? :wink:

Just an estimation. :wink:

I suggest they make the new east a non seated stand. That way we can squeeze another 60,000 desperate hibbys into the ground. :greengrin

What is the current capacity, 14000 ? If that is the case I genuinely think that there will be people locked out. Its a Scottish cup quarter final with a great chance of making the semis. So my guess is 13889

Absolute nonsense. If we can`t attract more than 8000 fans to a home quarter final tie we might as well pack it in. What is the point of building another stand if so called supporters can`t be bothered to turn out for a game like this especially with the real prospect of going all the way to the final. Maybe the supporters apathy rubbed off on the players. Its just a pity those that did turn out to support the team were served up another dismal cup performance.

Which bit is nonsense?

The bit about it being a poor crowd?

Or the fact that money is tight?

Or is it nonsense because I'm not sitting here criticising those who didn't go (for whatever reason...)

Take a look around the Scottish crowds today. The SPL games attracted less than 15,000 all in.

Kille v Celtc had just over 7000.

You could say Dundee v Raith had the most "impressive" attendance but that too was just over 7000.

:agree:

I was shocked when I saw the Killie attendance, and considering we've had a bigger gate than an all-SPL tie (involving the OF), I don't think our was all that shabby.

Plus we're a stand down.:agree:

If you think back to the St Mirren v Rangers game in the cup - was there not only about 4k there?

I decided at the last minute not to go to the game as money is tight and performances in general pretty poor through the whole of this season.
Serve up regular decent football, with players giving 100%, plus a change in the economy, plus football itself collapsing in on itself and returning to affordable admission levels, and you just might see bigger crowds.

I have supported Hibs now for over 50 years and vainly hope that I might see Hibs win the Scottish Cup before I die. Nothing would have stopped me being there today , regardless of how poor the performances have been. I want to see Hibs at least run out at Hampden in May, I want to see European nights at Easter Road again. I am fed up with all the ridicule of our dismal Scottish Cup record. This season could be our best chance ever of winning the bloody thing. Granted some people for what ever reason would have been unable to go today,and some might grudge paying £20 to help cheer the team on to possible cup glory but I know of quite a few people who call themselves Hibs supporters who could quite easily afford to go today and if by some way we make it to the final will be desperately looking for a ticket. They are not genuine supporters in my opinion.

(9,857-9600)/9857 * 100 = 2.61% error

I have been a Hibs supporter all my life, by the way, but I try to remain rational. After the run we have had I could not see a great turnout.
Hakim Sar was almost spot on with a % error of 0.03- amazing estimate.

Must admit I was surprised at the pathetic turn out yesterday, you do wonder what the point is of building a new East Stand when we can't even get close to filling 2 and a half stands for such a vital game.

if it hadn`t been for Countys excellent travelling support the gate would have been even more embarrassing.

It also wasn't helped by the misinformation being spread on threads like this one. For example:

There will be no cash gates.

The match will sell out.

You will have to queue twice once at the ticket office and again at the turnstile.

That must have put off a number from going along.

I went to the match worried it would be sold out and i wouldn't get in, only to find that when i did get in their was lenty empty seats in the South where i was and the FF was more or less half empty.

There should have been incentives for famous 5 for families imo. What's wrong with a reward system where kids pick up stamps for every game they visit to get a free game after 12 stamps or something out club shop? or every child that comes gets a free Capri sun and a kids lunch box?

Think we should go back to making football cheap for kids

Obv not just for the cup games but i think the hibs kids incentives must be up there wi the best in Scotland ..

The Hibs Kids scheme is excellent, IMHO - worth the tenner for the five games they get each season.

As for the attendances, it's not just Hibs - Ibrox was half-full today, Rugby Park was deserted yesterday, as was Fir Park.

I don't think it's fair to expect a sell-out for a game that's not included in Season Tickets in the current financial climate, and that's reflected across the game in this country.

The product is just not worth the money. And that is across the board in Scotland. I am not going to bang on with the usual Scottish football is ****, cos I don't think it is, its just not worth £26, £22, or as yesterday £20. There is better value entertainment to be had, especially if you have a kid or kids to take as well.

There is better value entertainment to be had, especially if you have a kid or kids to take as well.I think peoples priorities have changed too..mines certainly has ..a few years ago my Wife & I were earning good wages, we both had season tickets as did my two Daughters ...nowadays money is a lot tighter ..bills have gone through the roof as has our mortgage ..i dont earn anywhere near what i earned a few years ago so something had to give ...unfortunately it was the season tickets..

I still try to get to as many games as i can but when money is tight then its on here for the updates..believe me, poor performances or not i still know where i would rather be on a matchday & it certainly isnt on here !! ..

Also ..my job dictates what days i have off ...unfortunately its not always Saturdays ..
