I'm looking for some help tracing details about football teams from Leith.

Unfortunately my details are not great. I have been told by an elderly member of my family, that 3 of my great grandparents played for Leith Accies at the same time around the end of the 19th century .

They have a team photo but it only has the player names so I am not 100% sure of the club name.

I was also told that they were a Scottish league side at this time.

Their surname was Meaney and my first thought was to try and work out what league sides from Leith existed around this period.

I know of Leith Athletic but any help on any other teams would be appreciated.

My records suggest John Meaney scored at least ten goals whilst playing for Hibs including one in a 3-0 win over Hearts on 1 January 1917 :thumbsup:

Wow that's a great thing to know a relative played and scored for Hibs in a derby!

Can I ask if you have any details on John's brothers James and Abraham? And where I might find more details of all three's playing career?
