I know Yogi won't go this route but IMO it would get us the result
Stack
Hogg Bamba Hanlon
Spoony Zouma McBride Benji Murray
Stokes Deek
Hogg and Hanlon both solid as centre backs
Bamba in Sauzee role
McBride in Jack role
Zouma in Latas role
Murray and Spoony, natural wingbacks
Benji linking up play, getting forward with Zouma
Stokes and Deek willing runners that score plenty.

I think Nish and Miller will be involved.
Neither are suspended before anyone questions my comment.

IMO the midfield would get totally overrun with Mcbride as the only natural central midfielder in therre

Now that Miller can play it gives us a lift.

Is it coincidence that we have struggled going forward since deek has been benched? i have criticised him this season but with him in the team we give the opposition defenders more to worry about rather than without him.

If Miller is available he replaces Benji. Happy now?
O'Neill and Latapy were'nt typical central MF players, altho they worked well with a worker like Jack. I suspect likewise would happen here. Zouma can definitely play central no problem.

Miller is available, there's no ifs about it
That would be a decent team though, we certianly need to try something different against st johnstone so a 3-5-2 may work.
John O'neill definately was a typical central midfielder though, he had a terrific engine on him, good tackler and was decent going forward, as for Latapy if he wasn't a midfielder i don't know what was.
I think Zemmama could play central, but only in a more advanced role with a couple of ball winners behind him.

Pick the biggest strongest eleven we have as we will need them against the hammer throwers, not much to chose from though is there. Think i read somewhere this week that Hughes recognizes the lack of height in midd field and will address it in the close season, lets hope that's not to late.

That's what I would go with as well, with Galbraith to come on with a decent amount of time to offer a bit of width as St J's tire.
If Riordan is to play, I'd even have him dropping a wee (emphasis on the "wee", as Stokes totally isolated is no use to anyone) bit deeper to escape the hulking CB's.

By kicks out to full backs early and keep the ball on the deck. Zouma with a free role to do what he wants. Keep everything on the ground because Duberry is a huddy with a turning circle reminiscent of a no. 22! He'll lap everything up in the air however.

The harsh realism that Yogi will never drop him has now fuly sunk in..

Yogi dished out a good bit of praise for Stevenson. He's certainly hard working and does the simple things well - passing, making himself available, a decent tackler. He doesn't get forward like Rankin, but plays a way that is similar to McBride, which is useful, as 1. McBride's fitness is questionable at the moment and 2. I don't think his passing has been great since he came back from injury - of course this could have something to do with the pitches cutting up. It will also let us see how Stevenson performs in that role - I think he would suit it perfectly.

This would near enough be my team :top marks
However I would play benji upfront instead of Riordan, and would have Gow on the bench to replace the Gala magician if things dont go his way.

I think we need to win the mid field battle tomorrow and considering the Saints mid field is pretty dam good that won't be easy. I kind of like the idea of Bamba mixing it in the middle along with Zemama and McBride and probably Rankin. Keeping Spoony at right back, Murray at left and Hogg and Hanlon in the middle. Up front the first name down for me is Stokes and I'd start with Nish.Z

Some good looking team picks on this thread. So long as there is more than two in the midfield I'll be happy.

It's nice for Lewis he has so many fans but I dont see this player you see. He is nothing like McBride in style or ability IMO. His passing is normally sideways, backwards or suicidal, but generally it's a punt.
If Hibs are tommorow resorting again to playing midfielders who can kick and hoof as opposed to those who can pass and create I am going to get seriously concerned.
Absolutely no way a team chasing 3rd and looking to make inroads on the Old Firm play a midfield like yours- the scary thing is I think you could be right.
Bamba should move into midfield at the present time IMO. Having a good player like him and McBride there should allow any of Riordan, Zemmama, Miller, Gow or Benji the platform to perform. We have 2 decent enough centre halfs apart from Bamba that are capable.
