Was going to save this suggestion for the Roseburn v Hearts, but feel the last game at the East Stand is a very appropriate occassion, especially as there is likely to be a good atmosphere.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend either game, but hopefully if people were interested, a number of volunteers could print out and distribute song sheets to people as they come into the East on Saturday, and in the Roseburn on Saturday 20th March.

I have listed below the songs I propose to go on it, none of which I can take credit for. As this was intended for the derby, some of them mention Hearts, but they are mostly designed to get behind the team.

This may be too late for the game on Saturday, but could definitely be done in time for Hearts away. I'm not great at organising, and don't know many Hibs fans due to living in England so if anyone would like to assist, people contact me. Please also let me know your thoughts, suggestions or if you would like to help hand out songsheets. This could be a real goer and could really improve the match day atmosphere long term.

Warning: some of them contain colourful language, so don't scroll down if you are easily offended

I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it

I'd never been to Ayrshire
So I went one Saturday
Sixty miles to Kilmarnock
To see Hibernian play
The day was bright and sunny
But the game I won't relay
And there was no Kilmarnock bunnet
To make me want to stay

I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
I'm not going to talk about it
(repeat to fade)

The lyrics are a tad depressing :greengrin, but it's a bit tongue in cheek and it would be a great laugh to sing on the terraces!
The second set of "I'm not going to talk about it" would be chanted like the first part, instead of how it is sang in the song.

I admire your optomism and see what you are trying to do but i'll never be seen with a ****ing songsheet at a hibs game. The only time i can sing with real passion and gusto is when i'm in the terracing. If i turned around and somone beside me was trying to join in the song by looking at a pre printed lyric sheet, I'd think he'd never been to a football match before!

I'm sure your heart is in th right place but for me it's a non starter!

I'm sure the atmosphere will take care of itself on Saturday but anything that helps is fine by me.

I'm just waiting on the Derby at Tiny castle when 3500 hibbies are pointing at that thing they call their Main Stand, all singing "What the *****in hell is that"

I'm sure your heart is in th right place but for me it's a non starter! The idea isn't to get the fans to stand there like a church choir, its about raising awareness of these songs to as many Hibs fans as possible – and there is no place better than at the games.

People are likely to read them waiting for kick off, or half time when they are bored, so if someone does start the chant, they will know the lyrics. Even if people stick them in their back pocket, and don't read them till they are on the bus or train home, it's still a success – when someone tries to sing it the next game, people will be able to join in.

Just attempting to introduce a few new Hibs songs to the terraces, but isn't looking too good so far.

Don't give up - what you're doing is admirable :agree:

A few of the above songs are rarely sung anymore and some of our (younger) fans may appreciate a chance to practice :greengrin :singing:
