How many teams go into this from the league, i thought it was just third but they said on the radio that dundee utd were the favs to go into it when talking about how many points motherwell were behind them

Problem is that going in 4th or 5th is like the old Intertoto, fat guys off the beach struggling out of season against superfit garbage, but failing miserably.

I've just done a few calculations and we are currently sitting in 15th for the following year but Belgium are 0.891 points behind us in 16th with Anderlecht, Standard Liege and Club Brugge still in the Europa League.

If those 3 get over 4.455 points between them(looks likely in my opinion) then we go down to 16th which, as you can tell from that link, is very significant.
