How would he know?

He only watches basketball in Lithuania, and never bothers to come and see Hertz any more.

"The multi-millionaire banker has been scathing about the way the game is run by authorities in both countries and expects no swift recovery....."

He's already done his best to destroy what little football Lithuania had. :agree:

So the Lithuanian FA have finally found a backbone to stand up to Vlad.

I wonder if there's one going spare they could lend to the Jambos?

Or even to the SFA who allowed this creep into OUR game?

How many of the Deluded Ones are aware of this stuff? And of those, how many write it off as part of the Great Conspiracy?

He's not interested in football anymore. Vlad's new toy is in another sport! :greengrin

Half may down the article is about Vlad's involvement.

Vlad's a hoot.

First he takes Kaunas out of their league as he's in the huff.

Then he changes MTZ Ripo's name to Partizan Minsk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Partizan_Minsk).

What's he got lined up for the yams? :greengrin

Make them a volley-ball team, and give them a name-change, to Tattizan Minsk.

The thing that gets me about this rant is that he has a major involvement in both top leagues and is therefore in a unique position to have raised the bar as far as improving the product is concerned in both countries.

To achieve this he has withdrawn the top club from the Lithuanian league and reduced one of the top Scottish clubs, self proclaimed 3rd force, to the level of a badly run, non competitive, amateur club. His run ins with the Football Associations of these countries who have not cow towed to his influence are well documented.

A fantastic example of a megalomaniac* if there ever was one.

No I’m not a psychiatrist but even I can see the simpsons! :greengrin

*Megalomania
1. greed for power, an excessive enjoyment in having power over other people and a craving for more of it.

2. psychiatric disorder with delusions of power, a psychiatric disorder in which the patient experiences delusions of great power and importance.

He's a virus. He needs to be well zapped.

AFTER he completes the destruction of Dinamo Ghorghyi, of course.....

Sorry - name change, orders of The Great Vlad - FK Dinamo JCB-Traktor Ghorghyi....

Chick Young - Tell me, Mr Romanov, sir, is there any significance in the fact that the new club sponsors manufacture earth-moving equipment?"

Vlad - "No, no, little smelly creepy-crawly person with the brown nose, no significance at all. We win the Champions' League NEXT YEAR. I promise."

''With Kaunas quickly established as serial A Lyga champions — 2005 was the only year between 1999 and 2007 in which they failed to take the title — Romanov, usually via the considerable clout of Ūkio, concentrated on cementing his grip on their competitors. A sponsorship deal with the bank resulted in FK Atlantas falling under Romanov’s sway, and his disproportionate buying power enabled Kaunas to immediately accumulate any remotely promising local players into an enormous squad — most of whom were then loaned back out to compliant clubs in the division. In fact, FK Šilutė began the 2008 season with an entire team on loan from Kaunas.''

Sounds like he'd have been better off taking over one of OF- they were half way there anyway!

Thank goodness he didn't get the chance.

The OF are bad enough as they are - imagine that lunatic in charge at Ibrox or Parkhead.

IIRC he tried to get in at Celtk but was told to get lost. Too crooked even for them, I guess.

But if he (or someone like him) arrived at Greyskull NOW, waving loads of pretendy green stuff and talking big about the Champions' League....
