Seemingly researchers think that we may have come from cosmic microbes millions of years ago which was spread over the universe.

I read this today in the Sun. I suppose there is always a possibility, if that were the case then you would expect life to be out there somewhere.

Thread hijack...

Also in one of the above, I think the sun, there was a story about a bus driver attacked with a needle after refusing to change his bus route for a junkie. He's now awaiting a HIV test. The Sun's closing quote for him was 'I'm staying positive'. I must admit that I did laugh but how shoddy journalism is that!

We are the 13th Tribe, the other 12 Colonies were obliterated by the Cylon and they are right now trying to track us down flying across the universe.

I posted originally as I thought it may have caused a bit of discussion seeing as the subject was a wee bit controversial but obviously cheap spacemen jokes are better to talk about.

Isn't that the plot of one of those Mars movies from about 10 years ago? Mission to Mars, Red Planet, I get them all mixed up.

The whole space/universe/creation thing is something I can't get my head round. I see no reason why - if other life exists - it couldn't reach this planet and mutate and evolve.

At the same time, it is equally likely that the microbes could have begun on this planet.

All of which is my roundabout way of saying "I don't know".

A similar theory, actively taught in some university biology classes.
