As some of you may know I am a forum member at http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk). I was having a go at them just yesterday for their daft transfer values and low and behold they’ve decided to update the Hibs ones (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/verein/903/hibernian-fc/uebersicht/startseite.html), also see below. As the only Hibby on the site they have asked for my advice.

Now they’ve done this before and what I put forward doesn’t always get used, its considered.

So with that in mind can you please let give your valuations for our squad, you don’t have to do them all, so that I can pass the information on.

If Hibernian FC were to get in touch I’d be only too happy to listen.

I would be delighted if we could get those kind of prices.

Bamba, Stokes and Miller are perhaps priced a bit low and Wotherspoon must be worth an extra 2 Million but apart from that I would sell them all to be honest.

My valuations are based on contract length remaining, age, and their ability to adapt to a higher level. Id also suggest the values could fluctuate up or down by around 15% dependant on the type of club buying, such as a Russin club coming in = extra 20% on the fee usually. For example, if Deek had Fletchers pace and movement he'd easily be a 4-5 million pound player.

We could surely recoup what we paid for Rankin, so I'd imagine 100k even though I'd imagine he'd go at the end of his contract or in a swap deal. We'd get about £250k for Nish from England as well.

I think Deeks is worth more but don't think we'd get anyone paying much more.

Miller will be worth a lot more come the end of the season after playing a lot more games. Still think some would be reluctant to spend a lot on him just now. Same applies to Stokesy IMO.

Who is out of contract at the end of the season? I've not taken that into consideration with the above. I did start taking that into consideration but it meant Cregg was worth 0 so I couldn't justify Murray having a value so decided to ignore it. :greengrin

In all honesty the players people value at less than 250k probably wouldn't command a fee. Hibs will only get a fee for in form/top five of squad players who have a fair deal to run on their contracts.

Putting a value on a player champ man style is different. IE McBride, Murray, etc wouldbe valued highly due to form.

Some of the estimations on here are pie in the sky! £1m for Ian Murray and £540k for Stevenson?! If we think we’d get anything for most of the players we’re dreaming.

If they’re in contract we’d get anything like decent money for (i.e. £1m plus) are Wotherspoon, Riordan, Stokes, Bamba, Zemamma and Miller.

Hanlon might push imself into that group if he improves.

Other than the super rich of the EPL - clubs aint spending much cash which will always create a knock on effect of the value of players at clubs such as ours.

Unless its an EPL or cash to spend Championship club i do not think we would get much cash for the huge majority of our squad.
