Think you may have missed a rather obvious pun in your title, colourofmynose. Should you not have called the thread "I come bearing a gift"?

See, huns sometimes call themselves bears. Don't know why - possibly less sectarian, more teddly? :dunno:

To get it, you have to know the Weegie pronunciation of Gers and Bears, which are Gerrs and Berrs respectively. Therefore, it rhymes.

If it helps, here's what Maw and Paw Weegie would say to their offspring (or 'weans') whilst trying to interest them in two fine specimens of Bears in the Zoo:

"Erra-rerr-perra-berrs-err" **

I hope this helps

:agree: Parliamo Glasgow, is that no.

But if only the rhyme's the thing, they could have called themselves Airs, Cares, Dares, Fairs, Glares, Hares, Lairs, Mares, Pears, Rares, Squares, Stairs, Tears or Wares. Why Berrs? I suspect a royal connection (Edward/Teddy). :dunno:
