Dunno what the fuss is, 100k a week wouldn't even get Konte's big toe.

Lucas Neill went there over Liverpool for cash, so he was probably on a tidy sum.

If its for van nistelrooy, I would assume he will be on 18month contract or so, so 100k over 18months would work out about £7million. and about £2.5million until the end of the season. If he comes in, and scores enough goals to keep them up, its money well spent.

Its either that or spend £10million + wages on a striker.

could work out a great piece of short term business

Plus they don't have the cash on hand to buy a striker for £10M+, even if the fee was paid in instalments.

Always had a soft spot for WHUFC  after Bobby Moore, Martin Peters, and the rest of those wonderful players from the 60's 70's :cool2:

And for that reason I'm..IN.

Could work out to be the cheap option over the season...:greengrin

Keiran Dyer is on 80k a week, he has hardly played. What a waste of cash. Scott Parker is on 70k plus. If they get relegated, they are in deep do do.

Compensation money for what? Do clubs take out insurance in case one of their players suffers a career-threatening injury? :dunno:

So David Gold was criticising the previous previous board for going overboard and spending way beyond their means. And now David Sullivan is coming out publicly and saying he's offered £100k/week? Hmm :hmmm:

the only way,it seems,to call a halt to this fitba' madness is for clubs like the Hammers to go to the wall.how can these wages for players be justified,to the common man? :grr:

Do clubs take out insurance in case one of their players suffers a career-threatening injury? :dunno:Ashton was injured during an England training session so West Ham received a sizable sum from The EFA's insurance policy. It was a great shame as I'm sure he would've gone on to be a Hammers great if he played for them for any length of time. If RVN signs and keeps The Hammers up it'll be money well spent. COYI.

Interesting. I wonder if the SFA payed out when John Kennedy did his knee in? :dunno:

:agree:

If they get relegated again, West Ham are ****ed.

If spending £2.5m now guarantees survival, they'd do it. With no fit strikers at the moment, I reckon Van Nistlerooy could be a smart signing for them.

Of course it's insane money, but the whole Premiership is madness.

Van Nistelrooy is finished. His best days are now behind him. A bit crazy for West Ham to offer him £100k/week.

If he can keep himself fit, he would be a fantastic signing for West Ham and would probably 'do a Tevez' by keeping them up, almost single-handedly. Although this time, West Ham might want to sign him legally. :greengrin

He'll only be 34 later this year and I think his goalscoring record, throughout his career, speaks for itself.

Ljungberg was on 80K a week plus bonuses... he was pushed out of arsenal and the bloody bald idiot offered freddie double his wages! :grr:

Dyer is another on 80K plus a week with scott parker. Upson and green are on huge wages aswell.

Absolutely mental.

With the Ashton injury, he made a recovery from the injury sustained on england duty and played alot of games for the Irons and so the FA theoretically owe WH nowt. :boo hoo:

Quite. In fact, West Ham would be better offering us £3m for Colin van Nishtelrooy and pay him £30k a week - their fans wouldn't spot the difference, would they ?

They would have for the first period he was injured (2004 - late 2006), but he came back and got injured again playing for Celtic.

Bought for £6m, played 18 games - £333,333.33 per game, what a bargain! :grr:

Why would you spend that sort of cash and wages on a guy who is perenially injured. Complete madness.

The chances are they could go down unless they get a goal scorer.

Even an 18 month contract would only be 7.5million. Well worth it IMO if it keeps them in the prem.

True, but then they are friar tucked completely if they go down. Yet with a £110 debt another few million probably wouldn't make a difference.

Football doesn't care about the common man because the common man doesn't account for the % of club income that he once did.

Instead of Van Nistelrooy i'm surprised no English clubs looked at luca toni. Had a bad time at Bayern, but has gone back to Italy and is banging in the goals again. With his height I thought he'd be successful in england:confused:
