Whenever Bob Malcolm is touted as coming to us, everybody has the same resonse because of his FTP and the fact he used to be a Hun but, with my tin hat on here, I think he'd do a decent job toughening up the midfield and could be what we need going by recent weeks.

This is based on what he done when he was at the huns and I'll be honest and say that I don't even know where he plays these days, never mind how he's been playing.:agree:

If we sign him I hope we play him in the middle.

I'd take him, decent SPL player, good passer of the ball. Would also give us a bit of physical presence in the middle of the park. The whole FTP incident is in the past as far as i'm concerned.

Tin hat firmly on.:tin hat:

Who cares anyway? I've got no feelings either way about the Pope. maybe he's a good guy, maybe he's not.

Why do we need to bring religion into everything in this country?!

I'm not bringing religion into it, i don't care one way or another. I said i'd happily take Malcolm at Hibs.

BUT judging by the comment of others on this thread and previous thread also it is an issue for them, which is why i made reference to it. I think most people would also agree it was a pretty silly thing for a professional footballer to do.

He's bombed spectacularly in an inferior League, so it's a no from me.

I agree we need a physical presence in the midfield, someone in the Bamba mould but it's certainly not Big Boab.

Don't like the guy or his approach, but, more importantly, when I last saw him play against us (was it Motherwell he was with) it looked like his legs were gone and he was reduced to hacking people. Still picked out a few good passes, but I think we have enough slow folk in the team at present without adding another one. As in the Yogi test - would he improve on what we have? Nah. Rather persevere with Thicot.

We don't, which is exactly why that fat hun cretin should never be allowed anywhere near our club.

Sorry my post wasn't directed at you.

I think that a lot of people don't want him to sign because he wrote FTP on his knuckles. They've not even looked at his football ability.

I prepare maself for a poundin for this but....

If Yogi isnt willing to play Bamba as a holding midfield player (which is exactly what we need) I think bringing in Bob as a big spoiler might just work! Let him run around battering people and our flair players can concentrate on getting forward and scoring goals!

We've not had a 'spoiler' patroling our midfield since Rocastle. (what a c*** he went on to make of his career) and then before that it was big Matty Jack!

The op is having a giraffe surely? :greengrin It's been a while since one of the following have been mentioned as "still able to do a job at hibs":

bob malcolm
stephen dobbie
antonio murray

there are others, but I can't recall them right now...

but every few months, someone brings their names up. It's been happening for years now, and it's just become a kind of bizarre habit, like a freak hibs.net forum phenomenon. I fully expect someone to still be touting Stephen Dobbie for a move back to Hibs in 10 years time.

Still, serious or not, the fact that this post got some sincere replies made me chuckle...

Certainly strikes a mean free kick.

But to have such a Hun twat masqaurading our midfield with such fatness and unbearable bad looks linking our pivitol passing with cohersion and extreme discretion whilst blowing out his erse every 5 minutes doesnt fullfill me with excitement.

No thanks.No way.

I believe his spell down under has turned him into a number ten in the Fabregas mould and that he has been released because he's too soft.

From our favourite football rumours site:

18 Jan 2010 16:10:34
Heart Of Midlothian Football Club

I have been told by a former Hearts player that now works with Sky TV that Hearts have a offered a contract to former Rangers Fc midfielder Bob Malcolm. Malcolm has just been released by Brisbane Roar. However my source who played with Malcolm and is still good friends with him says Malcolm is "very likely" to sign the deal. According to him Malcolm wants to move back to The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and is impressed with "the traditions of Hearts and everything they offer and stand for".

He will fit in perfectly at Hearts. A non-footballer who will crush out ugly wins and dull draws.
