strange that Ed Balls states it's not British to tell someone what to wear in the street...
I thought it is.... http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/01/13/naked-rambler-could-spend-the-rest-of-his-life-in-prison-115875-21964048/

they banned the hijab (and large crosses and the Jewish skullcap) in public buildings in France and most French muslims supported it because the French state is secular and the law came from that tradition. the Uk state isn't secular and therefore there is not the same logic to it in the Uk as there is in France - it would be a form of persecution here whilst in France it wasn't.
i cannot stand the Burqa thing personally but i think emo's and goths look worse. either way i don't see how what he is suggesting can work here until we make the state secular and detach it from the C of E (which we should do anyway).
as for his justification i think his logic is laughable - saying that its a symbol of divided Britain, well maybe it is, but banning people from wearing it will do not one thing to change that, it would just be a kid-on measure.
so lets be honest this is just Ukip in a spot of electioneering in the run-up to May's election. nothing more, nothing less. if Farage wasn't a complete intellectual lightweight he might have been able to better mask that, but he isn't.
if we want to ban it and all other head-covering on grounds of security that is another debate altogether. unfortunately dimwit Farage can't seem to make his mind up which one he wants to have and is covering all bases. the guys a clown imo, and a desperate one at that :bye:

Banning Farage from all public places would be more reflective of public opinion. The man is a effete, middle englander cock.

Looking at Farage's coupon, I wish he could consider wearing a burqa.
