The guys technique is superb in that photo. He makes sure he gets his body shape right, and his head is directly over the other players head. That ensures the players head will stay down, and he wont balloon it over the bar.

That would be a shame, as from the photo, you can see he's got everything, technique poise and timing.

Maybe if we had a bit of fight like this then we could stand a chance against physical teams like united.

I blame the manager for telling the team during the interval that they have to go out there and get a head if they want to win this one.

I really shouldn't condone those types of things, but lets be honest, they will all be huns, so i will.

I think Newry's a mainly Catholic town, so half of them are probably plukes from the other buttock.

Newry 90% Catholic, Larne 80% Protestant according to wikipedia :greengrin

going by the players names and what i know of NI football, this isn't necessarily reflected in the players making up these two teams though.

and jailed, with no ball in the incident that is pre-meditated act of GBH.

Not exactly the toughest guy in town booting somebody from behind when he's lying on the ground...what a winker.

Looks like a very one sided affair from the photos - Larne should be removed from the Cup and the league, as that's not acceptable from professionals.

Never mind a life ban for the guy kicking the other chap in the head - he should be facing a custodial sentence! The guy who threw the Newry defender's head backwards could have broken his bloody neck!

Yes, I think Newry's population is predominantly nationalist and Larne's is mainly unionist. Good chance the players on opposite sides weren't the best of mates to start with:dunno:

Finding the pitches was often a task in itself. I remember playing Royal Ed and they brought their goals with them and erected them on the spot.

Odd mismatches of teams as well.
