From their site earlier..

Having passed the pitch inspection, the game today definitely goes ahead.

I think there was more rain since the 12.30 pitch inspection. There was certainly rain here in St Andrews since 12.30 so I guess there also was in Dundee...

Yeah ref saying he's not happy with some parts of the pitch. Sportsound saying it's still in the balance.

Going to be a few angry travelling fans if this isn't on

I'd blame the Referee. Surely he gave the green light for the game to go ahead the first time round, but now, all of a sudden, he changes his mind. Typical Referring in Scotland. Farcical.

No surprise that Hibs best football this season has been on good pitches and surfaces, so as annoying as it is (and with a fixture backlog), this could work to Hibs advantage to be honest. Cannot blame the ref for the rain.....if anything he is trying to guarantee football worth watching (and perhaps injury prevention)

WAs Conroy not the ref that was involved in the postponement of the United v Rangers game? (although he was right in that case)

It's just not good enough to be undecided whether this game goes on or not with little over an hour before kick off

He's a referee, not a psychic.

Sorry, but this annoys me. Do you still blame him now that the game is going ahead. Or would you prefer it if he callled it off at half 12 because even though it was playable then, it might not be at 3 o clock.

So then we'd get two managers on Sportsound complaining that the pitch is fine and wondering why there's no game. You'd probably blame the ref then too...

If there's a danger of a player picking up a serious injury then the referee really has no other option.

If there's a danger of a player picking up a serious injury then the referee really has no other option. The pitch was inspected at 12.30 surely then there must have been an element of risk...if so then it should have been called off there & then ...all this ****ing aboot just makes our game look all the more bloody comical ...

I wholeheartedly agree, but the ref could say that the pitch deteriorated between 12.30 and 3pm.

Have seen the pitch and the goalmouths were the issue. Very heavy with no bounce. Ref wanted to see it cleared before giving go ahead.

Right decision been made - unlike decision to shut earlier thread  :greengrin

Any chance of a half time inspection and an abandonment until such time as Yogi sorts this shambles out? :cool2:
