Shifting through a collection of good, bad & ugly papers on a relaxin Saturday AM and was interested to read an interview with Rankin in The Sun (surely true then?).

Rankin was talking about the players doing their 6k run. Stack managed 15.57 whilst Rankin blew this away with a time of 13.37.

Doesn't sound right... in fact, sounds incredible.

Gebrselassie, aiming to break the 10k world record in May last year "blasted" through the first five kilometres in 13min 31sec but finished in 27.39 (and his 6k time was still over 16mins).

I'm sure Rankin's time was on the treadmill (which would help in an huge manner and make a massive difference) plus he's obviously reached a high level of fitness BUT still sounds simply too quick....

Well done if accurate though.... :agree:. If non-treadmill times then he's obviously in the wrong job.

Has to be wrong. The world record for the 1500m is around 3m 30s. Multiply by 4 and at that same pace it would have still taken 14m for 6K.
Either the journalist wasn't listening or in Rankin we have GBs next big Olympic hope!!!

He says it was on the Crosstrainer in the daily ranger.
