Hoi! Leave Kingston alone. He's doing a great job. :greengrin

I think he was injured and not included in the squad but joined up with them anyway.

Even better, having a jolly with his Ghana mates while the Yams pick up his 10k wage bill, nice one Larry.

Decent attempt from Bamba with a ferocious leap above the defenders with a header going over the bar.

I really hope we wait until after the world cup to sell Bamba because we should get a very good fee.

Without a doubt the case, but at that point he'll only have 12 months remaining on contract.

I wonder if we could perhaps offer him an 18 month deal extension with a bumper sign on fee, and promise to sell in the summer for a much larger fee...

Like Fletcher did, obviously Fletch felt as though he owed the club, perhaps where Bamba does not, but he did get his first caps and real recognition whilst here, and his emotions at Pittodrie show he has some feeling for the support and club.

There'll be plenty takers to push up the fee anyway I'd imagine. A guy playing in major international tournaments available for a reasonably cheap price will be an attractive proposition for a lot of top clubs. When you look at how well African players have adjusted to the EPL in recent years, I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that he'll be playing for one of the bigger clubs there soon.

He's a fan favourite and has clicked with the supporters. The one thing I'll always thank Mixu for as a manager was his signing's.

Decent 1st half from bth sides, but I don't think I can take the drones of the horns etc no more... :boo hoo:

Time for some Dakar. Beats listening to HT reports from crappy Pudits.

Looks as if he was the only guy playing apart for the Germans....

Time to dig in now.

Nice comment from the prat from the Beeb - "Most of the crowd seem to be supporting the Ivory Coast. Must be the DROGBA effect...."

Naw, mate - it's the intense personal magnetism of Big Sol Bamba....

2-0 Ivory Coast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First minute: Sol outjumps the Ghanaian forward to win a header: free kick.

Last minute: Sol muscles the Ghanaian forward off the ball: penalty.

Referee has about as much sense about football as he had a hair on his head.

Felt for Sol there, that was never a penalty! No way would that have been given at 0-0. Shocker from the ref, reckon he just gave it as a consolation.

Thought Bamba strolled through that game.

From BBC:

"Ghana goal: Hibernian's Soulemane Bamba brings down Asamoah Gyan who steps up to slot home a consolation for the Black Stars from 12 yards."

They could at least mention that it was soft. :grr:

No danger Rod would let them get a 40% slice of signing on fee, he is far too astute for that

Wigan just payed £1m for Caldwell- a gash player with only 6 months left on his deal. Even with 12 months less we could get a big fee for Bamba in the summer. Not a penny less than £5m please.

I don't see why not. He's strolling it alongside Kolo Toure, and is playing as well if not better than him. Toure was bought for £14m for Man City.

Bamba is young, has so much potential. The only thing perhaps holding the fee back a little is that he is untested in the EPL, although playing against top players at the African Nations will go a long way to show he can play at the top level.

I thought Bamba looked better than Eboue and as good as Toure at the back. I reckon he's destined for the top and Hibs should be looking for atleast 5million. He's better than that hun Bougherra!! Hope he brings back a African Nations Cup winners medal then picks up a Scottish Cup with the Hibees:pray:!

It's the fact he's coming into his last year that makes me think we might not get top dollar. I reckon £3M for him but if anyone is going to push that up it will be Sir Rod!

The figures we are talking about are amazing when you consider a lot of Pars fans found him a liability. Biggest & Strongest Centre Half I've certainly seen in my time watching the Hibs.
