Gary Caldwells move to Wigan looked to be in doubt due to the bad weather conditions...until 40,000 Celtic fans turned up at Glasgow Airport to help clear the runway...

Caldwell and Bramble. Oh dear :faf:

Clearly resigned to the drop and preparing already for life in the Championship! In fact by giving Ronald McCaldwell a 4 and a half year deal, they're possibly preparing for life in League 1 the season after next! :greengrin

Unbelievable, I was shocked that he was getting looked at by a Championship club (okay Strachans in charge but still), but to be signed by Wigan!

Better probably. He's no loss. Incredible that a player of his 'quality' is earning £100,000 a month BASIC.

Without doubt two of the worst defenders ive seen in the flesh, probably both millionnaires. Football has gone totally mad:bitchy:

It amazes me how a player of Caldwell's pretty limited talent keeps getting these deals at decent clubs, is the players agent sitting holding a gun to the managers head when they sign.

:faf: My thoughts exactly. Pidgeon Chest and Lego man at the back.

Might just be me, but i actually think Caldwell is a decent player.

Obviously Wigan do also to take him down South. You might be slagging off Bramble, but he's actually not had that bad a season, compared to some of his Newcastle days.

Id have Caldwell back in the Hibs defence. No probs.

Celtic lost there best CH.

Far too slow for the EPL, too small and probably his biggest fault is he's sheite. Yip, i have a feeling it might just be you.

To be fair though he's up against Loovens and McManus. My Granny would probably be the best CH at Celtc with those 2 as competition.

Lucky escape for Middlesbrough. Pretty nightmarish thinking how much further an already pretty frail Boro defence would have been weakened had Strachan succeeded in bringing that incompetent, arrogant tosspot to the Riverside.

Unbelievable really Wigan normally are pretty shrewd, maybe Caldwell thinks this will help his international chances :faf: own goals, pointless ordering offs and other calamities aside............

:greengrin

:faf: deary me. See, some folk get dazzled by the money in the EPL but when it comes down to it, they're just paying the same pish players far more than they're due. I almost inhaled my sugar puffs the day i read calamity was looking for 20,000 a WEEK! I wouldn't give him that a year.

Caldwell is dreadful totally dreadful......

Still even worse was his interview at Wigan, when he said it was a wrench leaving the club he supported as a boy, and that Celtic had some of the best fans in the World............:grr:

Caldwell is nae worse than his brother and he's doing just fine at Burnley:agree:.

He's nae Vermaelan or John Terry, but will do just fine for Wigan IMO.if only they had him on board before that 9-1 pumping at 3point lane :greengrin

Fair play to Caldwell, his agent deserves some type of award surely? He will be the busiest agent in football as other players will see if he can get Caldwell £25K a week what can he get me.

Think we need to start a Caldwell watch thread though - will be funny as he gets various bookings/sending offs that he got away with playing for one of the old firm.

Of all the guys who left us from Mowbrays team he was the only one I wasn't bothered about. Absolute bombscare and worth a goal a game to the opposition. Has to have the best agent in world football! Mercenary prick who shafted Hibs after we saved his career three times.
