What's that meant to mean?
You made a statement that was riddled with inaccuracies and I replied with facts about the matter, if you didn't want to discuss it why did you start a thread about it?

Moral rider??? :faf:

Of course people believe they are right when they post. If we applied your logic across the board then everyone who thinks they are right is an :asshole:

Gramo was trying to point out that the binmen had a cheek demanding more money when they were refusing to work in the cold.
I pointed out that they weren't demanding more money but were infact trying to protect an average of a 5k loss in earnings. In trying to protect this they're on a work to rule which involves following health and safety guidelines which IMO would cover working in unsafe conditions underfoot.
Don't know what got said after.

Someone said something, then someone said something else back. There was a frank and contentious exchange of controversial views dressed up as facts. One person claimed the other person was trying to feel superior to them. The other one laughed at the misuse of a metaphor and therefore felt he/she/it has won the argument.

Happens all the time on h/net, especially here in my favourite of all the boards.

Maybe someone could fill me in - our bins haven't been collected for 3 weeks.

Not that I particularly care - yet - but the roads are now passable as are the pavements, although this would not have been the case until this week for a massive bin lorry.

What's the state of play with bin collections - is it the private guys who previously covered for the strike before Xmas that are still responsible for them, or is the reponsibility of the cooncil, and if so, why haven't they been collected for the past 3 weeks?

Just through a inability to collect them due to on-road/underfoot conditions or more strike action, and what is the given justification for said strike action if this is the case?

Cheers

I chased the bin men down the street last week in the snow in my slippers as they didnt empty my bucket:greengrin

WTF i said !

"Listen mate , these guys have to take a 3k drop in earnings and they still want us to cross the road to empty bins on the other side of the street ! We do one side first now and will get yours on the way back up":faf:

I kid you not.

The funny thing is , the road outside my house is only wide enough for the bin lorry:greengrin No cars can get past when the lorry is there:greengrin

Shoddy lazy shirkers:agree:

Empty my effin bucket:grr:

In fact, he said morale rider, and you're clearly missing the point. That's a much happier, more positive character. A Vera Lynn type, maybe?

I know if Vera Lynn came on my thread, I'd be cancelling it right away.:agree:

So what's a 'Moral Rider'?

Its a more ethically aware person who rides your morals, not just your morale. Or it's a cowboy with a bible.

Anyway, those work-shy pikey barsteward binmen appeared to have been whipped into shape by the force of outraged public opinion, and our street has had the bins emptied.

Personally, I'd have flogged the lot of them, but there you go, the PC Brigade win again!!! :grr:
