10107 good crowd despite the weather.

Excellent figure when you consider that Sheep v Yams was somewhere in the region of 8,500.

Good pay day for Irvine Meadow.

Well done :notworthy:

Not bad to be honest, think of how many fans from Borders etc who may have decided to stay at home

In comparison the BIG all SPL clash at Pittodrie attracted 8226.

I'm sure the Out of Cup'ers were laughing at our attendance there just prior to Christmas. If I recall it was just under 10k.

Dont know if it really was a good Hibs support, when you take into consideration that there were around 2500 meadow fans.Means only 7500 hibs fans, a drop of mibbe 5000 compared to a normal SPL game.Might be a good idea(I know it shouldnt be said)but if we get into the final, folk who bought tix for this game should be given preference for the final or semi.

Nah, dont agree with you, priority still should be given to s.t. holders. We decided not to go today due to terrible road conditions.

That must have been a terrible home support there then.

(I'm assuming Hertz sold their end out due to their 'special relationship' with the cup)

the Dons obviously forgot to add in the number of season ticket holders of the PBS brigade who couldn't attend :greengrin

Kind of what I expected, with the weather/roads reducing the walk-ups considerably. Played in reasonable conditions, a crowd of 13K would have been there easily.

Travelling up from Peebles, the roads are still poor down here, and no buses were running to Edinburgh today (although in saying that, the roads were not that bad) Got better all the way in.

100% agree , all the S.T. holders that never turned up will be desperate for it to go to S.T.'s (which i am) but i think the people who turned up today should get priority. We bared the cold today and the weather was just as bad last week but many turned up then

£15 just after christmas (or more if you go as a family) might not be something some folk can afford. I am just glad I took the CTU option at the start of the season

Decent crowd given the temp, the travel conditions, the opposition and IMHO the poor performance v big and wee Huns.

Which begs question when was last time we played big and wee Huns 3 times in 3 weeks? :greengrin

Folk who paid £15 for one game should get priority over the fans who pump hundreds in every single season? I'm all for those non-ST holders who attended previous rounds getting priority over 'gloryhunters' for semi/final tickets but it's right that ST holders get top priority.

At Pittodrie for 2 premier league teams, maybe we should be more realistic about our attendances, they are on the up while others are on the slide. The futures bright..............

Yes that is a poor crowd, but to be fair, would you have wanted to travel up to Aberdeen yesterday in this weather and outside Aberdeen, where a lot do travel in for the game most communities are still snowed in.

If you take the Medda support away from yesterdays game, Hibs only attracted around 8000-9000 home fans.

Lothian and the Borders weather has been just as bad as the North East. If Aberdeen were at ER yesterday there would have been more than 8226.

Top priority should be for fans who still have their ticket stubs from the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts a few seasons ago.

Thought it was an excellent crowd in the circumstances, though the trains etc were operating far better than I feared they might be.

Who would have predicted that Hibs v a junior team would provide the biggest attendance of the 4th Round (and the Scottish Cup to date)?

Especially with several all SPL ties including a class between historically the third and fourth forces in Scottish Football (one of them with a 400,000 fan base)!

Don't see how people can possibly criticise 'only' 8000 hibbies being there, espesh if you glance at some of the crowds in last weekings english cup which is 'the best cup competition in the world' don't you know
