I know the Football Rumours website is full of rubbish, but it is good for a laugh. Thoughts on these:

There will be an unprecedented exodus of players from Scotland over the next two weeks to England – mainly to Championship, but also to EPL. Financial difficulties for English clubs are leading them to the relative value for money from tried and tested players in Scotland. There are absolutely no players in Scotland that not for sale – not even McGeady for the right price.

Expect to see the following notable moves:

Boyd (1M) – Forest – They're playing a patient game for his signature, but see his goals the key to promotion to EPL. It suits Boydy too as he'll get the chance to prove himself in a lower league before his dream of playing in EPL. Smith will be looking to younger players to step up to the mark.

McManus (1M) – Newcastle – Despite criticism, McManus's backs to the wall defensive style is still sought by the toon to bolster their title push. Mowbray will be happy to let him go with O'Dea returning from his loan and Thomson progressing well.

Scott Brown (7m) – Birmingham – McLeish is a long time admirer of fiery Brown. His determined play and undoubted skill will add steel to Brum's midfield, whilst allowing Celtic to cash in on an asset that's still failed to fully fit in at CP.

McGregor (4M) – Man Utd – Perhaps a surprise, but Ferguson rates McGregor highly and sees him a long–term first team regular once he's cut his teeth as an understudy. Rangers will cash in on a player with off–field issues that pose risk to future deals.

Thomson (3M) – Bolton – Expect Owen Coyle to continue to look for steady Scottish players in his new club. Thomson would certainly cut it in EPL and offers good value for money as Rangers must sell.

Samaras (3M) – West Brom – recent form has alerted English clubs once again to his pedigree. Celtic will let him go on the basis that they need a goal scorer rather than a good forward.

Expect to see some swap deals between SPL clubs. Hibs and Hearts will both be involved in such deals with Celtic and Rangers respectively. Stokes and Nade are well documented, but also Miller and Stewart – much to the annoyance of many fans from all teams concerned.
