I wish this lot would concentrate on perhaps, maybe instead of criminally falsifying expense claims try and get on with doing what they were elected to do and, perhaps, try and make a bit better job of trying to run the country than the shambles we are in just now and ****in stop bleating on about how much people should or shouldn't drink

Maybe if the prices in their ****in subsidised bars doubled they might shut their ****in gobs

I suppose that interfering is their reason for existence. I like the idea that some MPs are telling the Drinks Industry’s lobbyists to piss off.
I don’t agree, however, that hiking up prices will have any significant effect on the public health. In Scottish society, I am certain we all know people who would sacrifice anything in order to have money for bevvy. I know people who would walk to a pub or off licence in freezing temperatures for £20 worth of drink without a coat, rather than spend that money on the item of clothing that would keep them warm.
Sticking a couple of bob on the price of alcohol won’t solve deep rooted problems like that.
