More to the point, a team in blue & white hoops playing against a team in blue jerseys! Back in those days a team in green jerseys with white sleeves could wear them against a team playing in green & white hoops as well!

Lol. Check out Duff Jimmy getting MOM at the end. Clearly not transferred his footballing skills into management :bitchy:

There was 1 New Year Derby postponed in the 70 odd years from 1890 to 1960s. There have been 7 since.

Here's a thought...

Whats the point in mandating that SPL grounds have (deluxe) undersoil heating - the clubs invest, maintain and go to the additional expense of turning it on if then the match is cancelled for other reasons?

People's safety if paramount. However what about the expense of this all? Are deluxe "full monty" undersoil heating systems therefore rendered pointless (since the "surrounding areas" would deem a game cancelled?)

Perhaps they could get by with simpler/cheaper solutions.

Does undersoil heating not knacker the turf? Groundsmen must be tearing their hair out putting it on knacking the grass only for it to be cancelled.

Hibs away game in Perth in the 1990's when the whole pitch was white. Lost 2-0 though :boo hoo:

Once watched Lincoln City V Fulham in a boxing Day 3rd division match where the Polis said game was fine to go ahead - amazed as the weather was abysmal -once inside the ground the cop on the terracing told us they'd ok'd it because so many Fulham fans had travelled up and already arrived. Imagine putting the fans first....... It was a blizzard of snow but 0 - 0 at half time.

Fulham fans all sang for the orange ball at half time, the officials duly obliged and if I remember correctly Lincoln won 3 - 0.
