How is it? I'm now a soft southerner stuck at home in London today because there are no trains! I'm booked to fly up on Saturday for the game. Would appreciate updates & info re possibility of game being on/off.
Thanks!!

The pitch and access areas will be ok around Easter Road. However, the Police may call the game off to prevent the expected 2,500 travelling through from Irvine for safety reasons. The forecast is to drop to -12C in the west at the weekend and the roads will be treacherous particularly if they run short of salt and grit. The main roads south of the City by-pass are either closed due to snow or passable with care.

I would only use this website for the currents day weather. They seem to get future days wrong alot.

I don't think it willbe off if the rangers and hearts games survived then this should be fine :agree:

Without being unduly pessimistic I think there is every chance that the game will be off. The police have asked clubs to make an early decision, starting today. The roads south of Edinburgh are chaotic and with the chance of even more snow and baltic temperatures forecast for the end of the week, a postponement is very much on the cards.

I agree.

Hope I am wrong, but I am not sure we will have a match this weekend or even the next again going by the weather forecast for the next ten days.

Well as an ex resident of Sunny Leith I fervently hope that you & the other optimists on this thread will be proven correct!

Huge differences over relativley short distances.

I stay in East Lothian well away from coast - but only 25 minutes drive to ER in normal conditions.

Snowed in Monday - Had to dig the snowplough out when it got stuck in village in the evening.

Dug out Tuesday morning..it was -11oC. It was only -2oC in Edinburgh Chamber Street when I fought my way there.

Last night lots more snow and snowed in again - there is around 2 ft of snow lying here.

Still got a trailer of snow free to a good home

Glad to hear that, the pavements around Easter Road at the moment are a shambles.

Was watching the big RAF yellow fellow flying around the Borders today, don't suppose they will hire it out for footie games.

I didn't get a ticket for the cup game after the drive up for the Hearts, as the roads were a nightmare.

I fear that if we get (and it's very likely) more snow thursday afternoon or friday the game will be off.
