i thought mcleish done a very good job, granted he had cracking players but he still gets my vote

my vote went for mogga just think he did so much for the club and brought a style of football that has not been seen in a long time "fast flowing attacking football" and could sign a player and a half murphy, boozy, ivan, jones ect. only flaw was his signings for keepers and goalkeeper coaches :notworthy::thumbsup:

I voted Hughes, because i truly feel great things are going to happen with him as our manager. But reflecting, i'd say Mcleish, he brought in the likes of Sauzee, Latapy, Mixu, Libbra etc. He definatly had an eye for a player, he was in charge of the 6-2, he got us back to the preimer league, and he got us 3rd, he got us to a cup final, he got us playing nice football, infact heck yeah Alex Mcleish!! :agree:

Well i am only 16 so i can't remember some and i was not born when others were there. The earliest i can remember is McLeish but i'd say Mowbray because it was him that really got out youth system up and running with Brown, Thomson, Riordan.....Didn't vote as not fair vote for me

the only bit i have against mcleish was the state he left the club in when did go. a few players also did [1]. now i don't blame him for the finance situation if anything he helped it eg bought cruz for 750,000 sold for 2.5 million ish. but just the squad was poor and his last run of games was also poor.

This poll would show completely different results if Mogga was still with West Brom that's for sure. I canny stand the man now but he made us into a football team again and was very unlucky to come up against a hearts team paying wages they could never afford. Although Zibi earns him a few minus points.

Eck got money to spend and to his credit he bought 2 of the best players ever to grace a green and white shirt. That money could have been easily squandered. We had plenty of magic moments but he couldn't halt the downward spiral in 2001-02.

Yogi - far too early although the signs are good.

I must admit I didn't even look at the rest :greengrin

I voted for TM. JC won us silverware and I will always love him for that :agree:

JH is doing great things for Hibs at the moment and I think he may turn out to be one of our best managers ever - I hope :notworthy:

I'd say TM, but it's kind of hard to judge, as he took over from a very unpopular manger and inherited some great young players. He did make some great signings as well though, and on a very limited budget.

I can't see why JC should get any votes - he alienated most of his players, sold folk like Sproule unnecessarily and lumbered us with Maka, O'Brien and a whole series of other duds. And we went on two very poor runs under him. Yes, we won the LC under him but he didn't have to face the Old Firm like our other managers - and remember the worst team in the SPL put us out of the SC under him a few weeks later. And his record against Hearts was awful.

McCleish for me. Yes, his last few months were poor, but we were a force for a wee while under him, playing some great football and being entertained by sauzee and Latapy et al. And the 6-2...wow!
Yes, Mowbray brought back an excitement with free-flowing footie, and he got lucky inheriting some of the best talent in the SPL, but for his appalling derby record and poor away form, he's second to McCleish.

Previously i would have said Mowbray. However, thinking deeper, I would have to say that McLeish deserves a hell of a lot of credit.

Yes, there was Sauzee, Latapy, Zitelli, Luna....all those great players.
Yes, he managed us to third, out of the First Division, into Europe.
Yes, we hit a slump towards the end.
And Yes, he went to the Huns.

However, when he came in with Parky, he completely overhauled the youth system at this club. This gave Mowbray the platform for his fantastic footballing ideology to manifest itself. It gave Collins the likes of Brown, Fletcher, Stevenson and Whittaker to go and win the League Cup with. These ideologies and stratagies were the foundations of East Mains too.

Done a great job with the National team too - not only winning so many games, but gradually making us better to watch.

Has to be Big Eck for me.

it might be too early but i have to say hughes!

His post match interviews are what I want to hear. they're completely honest.

Those who said mowbray...look at how far his team gets him at Celtic. They will be fantastic losers.

I hope to god Rangers hump them and we finish second.

Alex Miller for me.

But JC did win a trophy for us !

Voted for Hughes for the simple reason that, like me, he is a true born Hibbee. When the going gets tough, as it probably will at some point, he will get on with the job. If things go very well as they just might I don't think he will be watching the telephone for an offer from Celtic or the like.

McLeish for me. The season in the first division was great fun and showed that fans will turn out to watch a winning team. The first season back finding our feet was okay but the season after that was just brilliant. The only thing missing from McLeish's CV however, is that he hasn't shown that he can pull a team out of a nosedive. When he moved along the M8 we were a pale imitation of the pre-christmas side from the season before.

I take it a few people have been getting stuck into the drink for quite a while? Can't see many other reasons to vote for Miller.

I picked JC for the cup win which is my favourite memory of following Hibs and the ideas he had for hibs. Unfortunately it never worked out.

Mcleish is second for the fantastic team he put together, Sauzee, Latapy, Zitelli, Jack, O'Neil, Laursen, some fantastic players.

Voted Tony Mowbray due to style of football and attitude.

I still wonder what might have been with Sauzee and JC.

Cup :dunno:

A whole season without an away win or scoring more than 1 goal in the process. Knowing before you went that not losing was the instructions to the players.

Pretty tough as 20 years ago was when Miller's Hibs started to implode thanks to the assett stripping going on by Rowland, we've then got the Mercer mess and after that Sir T and Douglas Combe pulling the club up and Miller producing an eyewatering team with O'Neill, McAllister, Jackson and Wright. I'll take Miller's reign over Bertie Auld's every time.

On games won though and with style - McLeish. Best team since the Tornados.

Mowbray, no question :agree: Although I wasn't a Hibs fan during McLeish's reign, i've heard about it, but for me, It has to be Mowbray. Purely for the brand of football and where he had us in such a short space of time, We can only imagine where we'd be now....

Mowbray for style and ethos but Big Frank S is still in my heart the one I wanted to do the biz for us.

How many managers have Man Utd had in the last 20 years??? Tells a story about faith and consistency and "loads o money"

Has to be McLeish for me. That team was the best team to play for Hibs since Turnbull's reign, and at times they just looked something special.I'll never forget the 6-2 game,or the AEK game at ER. Sauzee,Latapy,Zitelli,O'Neill, all so special that season, and that's why I voted for Big Eck.
