Doubtless someone with faster fingers than me will get there first, but here goes:

The 'well board have played a blinder, no-one saw this coming, straight out of leftfield etc etc.

Reported elsewhere that he quit as opposed to being sacked, fuelling speculation he is about to take up a position in elsewhere.

He wouldn't sign a new contract, his man management was crap and the players hated him apparently.

Disquiet within the club about his public persona.

Exactly what I was thinking. Players didn't like what he was doing at the club. Rebellion on the cards.

Disquiet within the club about his public persona.

According to the Beeb, it's because he wouldn't sign a contract full stop.

This suggests that he hasn't had a contract in place since day one - if so, Motherwell could be understandably anxious that he would walk out on them at any given moment.

Fair enough, he did fall out with Craigan, but surely results have pretty much justified his decisions?

To think that only a few months ago some folk on this board preferred him to Yogi. Not mentioning any names.

It would be a good appointment for them... but it depends if Calderwood would take it, or is waiting on something from England or the Netherlands.

Some Well fans reckon that Stephen Craigan is keen on a coaching career - maybe they'll turn to him? He'll be pleased to see the back of Gannon, anyhow.

Said the relationship between Gannon, the staff and the board had become an issue, in other words he's a big headed, big mouthed Irishman who thinks he's better than he really is and got on everyones t1ts at Motherwell.

I thought he sounded down but perceptive in his analysis. Are managers not allowed to tell the truth? Perhaps not when it affects the desire of supporters to hand over their cash to the club.

Jeez, you'd have to look hard to find one of those! They should have hung onto him for his novelty value alone.

It would have been interesting to see how Gannon's fitba' philosophies panned out in the long term.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to learn that "higher authorities" in the Scottish game mjay have exerted pressure on the Motherwell board to remove Gannon following some of his disagreements with Dallas.

With Gannon already gone, Moutouakil (The right back), Ruddy (The goalkeeper), and Jutkiewitz (The striker) all heading back to their parent clubs in January, is it safe to rule them out of competition for 3rd spot?

They were never in with a chance of 3rd with that team and manager.

Surely this news has to give us some perspective re yesterday's result. We could have appointed Gannon i/o Yogi and we'd be well p'd off now. As it is there's a lot to be positive about. We lost one game-big wows

Bugger it, I was hoping he'd get the DU job, then 3rd place would be assured for us. I actually quite liked Gannon, but his last interview after the defeat by Saints was quite damming if the truth be told. I would hope Craigen has nothing to do with this either,he spends more time on Sportscene than on a fitba pitch these days.
