Check out the photo in the Hibs match report in the Scotsman this morning. It shows Stokes after his knee slide celebration towards the linesman. The caption says 'Stokes celebrates in front of the Hibs support'. From the angle of the photo, there is an empty stand with a wee lassie sitting on her own. The reporter must be a Jambo or have a sense of humour. It was actually quite funny even if not intentional.

I am pretty sure the caption writer had his tongue firmly in his cheek with that one Jim!

What the picture did show however was the ludicrous practice of linesmen rushing to stand in front of celebrating players with outstretched arms in case the player commits the heinous crime of standing on or over the bye line.

aye that ruling about leaving the field of play is a total farce, fair enough dinny do it at the end the opposition are "housed" but at your end in front of your own supporters should be ok IMHO :grr:

Yeah that was quite amusing

Didn't think much of the match report itself though. Only about 3 paragraphs were about the game while the rest of the report seemed just to be about how Rangers are going to beat us next week, how we won't split the old firm, and how Rangers and Celtic will coast for the rest of the season. Pretty odd considering we've just put the best run together by any team this season and Celtic lost yesterday.

What the photo doesn't show is the police officers a little higher up and the state of the seats covered in snow and then 800-1000 odd very noisy Hibs fans behind. I was there. Have a wee look at some of the Sheep fanzine sites and you will hear them mentioning the Hibs support. Of course over on JKB they will be getting all moist about the poor Hibs crowd. Do they count their season tickets holders in the away crowd too over on JKB:wink:. 1 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/top_scorers/default.stm)/2 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/table/default.stm).
