Good stuff. Was it pretty much the same team that played Sunderland?

I have to say, I like the fact we're taking teams down to the North East to play clubs like Newcastle and Sunderland rather than reserve dross from up here. Standard, even at reserve leve, ought to be better and give the fringe guys a good run out.

Not sure if these bounce games still went on when the reserve league was in practice but appears like we're getting more games in against this opposition than before.

Ameobi and Ranger played for Newcastle. Don't know the rest of their team yet though!

Sounds a good performance against what looks like a more experienced team. Thomas Flynn - goalie - looks like he had a good few saves to make. Since he comes from that area, must have felt good!

Yes, please!!! Always remember the first time I ever went to ER was a pe-season game against Newcastle - score was 0-0. 1967/ 1968? Can't remember exactly (senior moment!!!!), but the whole experience lives with me still, that HUGE terrace, the noise and movement!!!! Made me a Hibee for life.

Just watched the goals on NUFC TV.

More than a bit of luck for Kurtis's equaliser but they all count.

Bit surreal watching the owner turn up for a reserve friendly in a helicopter.

Build the new stand, then open the completed stadium in a 3-way tournament with Newcastle and Sunderland.

Flat rate - £10 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for kids under 12, per game.

Three sell-outs - lots of fun and good footie - wee boost to ST sales as well. Do a bit of extra business in the shop, too.

Simples!

Sounds good, but i think you'd see the same problems as we will have, if we have a tournament in Ireland alongside the yams.

Nice idea - but Newcastle and Sunderland don't get on too well - that's just the small problem :greengrin

I think his point was that we would get a sell out for that game = cash and bit of interest.

Yeah I saw that

Just making the point it wouldn't happen.

Nothing wrong with the idea of a 3 team tournament - except the problem we may have IF the East gets built is it may not be finished by then ?

But I'm sure IF it goes ahead they have to have events at it before it's officially opened?

a 3-way tournament with Newcastle and Sunderland.

I assume that you have never experienced a Newcastle v Sunderland game before then.
