Can anyone confirm whether there are still horrendous roadworks on the M8 near to the Kingston Bridge (as per the recent game at hunbrox) that are likely to cause big delays on the way to Rugby Park and, if so, what are the best alternative routes ?

I always drive via Livingston and Strathaven (A71).

The Motorway through Glasgow is a nightmare at the best of times.

Rangers are at home so expect a build up of traffic around the Ibrox junction.

No roadworks when we went to Paisley we had a clear run through. Kingston bridge can be a nightmare at times though with or without roadworks.

Bit of gamble really but East Kilbride way takes out the gamble.

Didnt see roadworks on the way to Paisley but the traffic was rank as you got into glasgow. The way back with the huns coming out as well was even worse, i would avoid it if possible, ill be on the route finder before i head to Killie!!

That's slow going and you can be stuck behind someone doing anywhere between 30 and 40 most of the way.

OK if you're not in a hurry, otherwise if you want to bypass Glasgow and haven't got all day go East Kilbride. Usually takes about 40 minutes from leaving A8 to get into Kilmarnock going via EK, A726 and M77.

Might get stuck behind me, thats the way I go from Peebles, up to Carluke then Strathaven.

Far from my favourite drive I`ll grant you that.
