The dreary old Sun this morning reporting that our average gate is 9 thou and Deeks is on 3k a week, eh?, maybe 20 years ago like!

What a waste of ink that paper is, and yes you are right why DO I bother buying it

What a nonsense. I only buy it on a Saturday coz the wife likes the TV book! 9,000 Average gate!? They must be about 4,000 out.
To be honest though, I dont think Deek will be on a whole lot more than £3k a week - maybe 4?

If you click on the Andy Murray story, you will see his Hibs scarf on the sofa behind him

It almost halfs!

that'll probably be his basic wage and will get topped up with appearance fee, win & goal bonuses etc so on a good week like this one he's probably pocketed about 6-7 grand :agree:

The Jumbo attendance figures count season ticket holders even though they are not at the match, wonder what the figures would be if every other team did that,

You buy the sun and then hide it between the pages of reader's wives so that you don't get a public minter if people see you in the shop.

The s*n is the worst paper in the world. Pure ****. Setting the trend after Hillsborough and proving they still have no class with the whole Gordon Brown's condolence letter episode.

One of my best mates was involved in a public tradgedy (the event is of no relevance so don't want to name it) that was reported in the media and all the press.

The Sun were banging on his door looking and hounding him for comments barely 2 days after the event, which was a very emotional and shocking time for him. No class or sensitivity at all. W*nkers.

Not seen the article so this might be a daft suggestion but is it possible they're counting only home fans? In the press room at ER they (or used to) pin up a sheet with the total figure but it's split between home and away. Also the Brechin game would have affected the average

Might be tosh buit thought it worth sharing :greengrin

Much as I dislike Harry Potter, for a club putting in a genuine challenge its about time the fitba fans in our 4th city got off their backsides and supported United.

Once your attention span improves and you get the hang of words with more than 6 letters and 2 syllables, you'll realise how dire that rag really is.

Know someone who was in a similar position a good few years back, and who received exactly the same sort of treatment from them. Good to know they haven't let their standards slip. **** of the Earth.

My mate used to work in a searching agency (don’t know if that’s the technical term or not).

He had journalists phoning him with the name of the dead from the factory explosion in Glasgow before the names had been made public - asking him to search the family trees so they could doorstep them for a reaction. It was the Daily Record I think.

The Sun today has a comparison between Hibs and IM. Our triumphs are noted as 2 Scottish Cups 1887 and 1902. Very funny. ******s.

Yep heard a similar story. Guy I used to play footy with years ago brother got killed in action, reporters were at his mums door, foot in the door trying to scavenge a photo. They give parasites a bad name.

Other one was a kid had died and they were phoning up the family making out they were from Social security to get some details on the dead kid.

We should start a 'Don't buy the S*n' campaign like they do at Liverpool.

As a proportion of the local population their support might be very similar to Hibs - yes/no?
