Looks a bit harsh on Hibs to me. Seem to accentuate the negatives and ignore the positives. Bamba, as an example, was excellent for most of the game and Ok had a few blips, none of which ended in a goal against.

Though we were poor yesterday, the shots on target were 13-4 in our favour. No mention made of the lucky deflection that took Nish's shot past the post. Also, the most important fact was Hibs 2 -v- Falkirk 0.

Sounds like they were listening to the radio rather than watching the game......

A fairer report?

Starts of with a p!ss-poor headline, "Riordan papers over the cracks in Hibs' defence" and goes steadily down-hill from there. Look at the league table Mr. Forsyth. Only the huns have a better defensive record than us.

Doubt the this lazy journo was even at the match - at least not the same match that I was at.

the hapless goalie would never have been forgiven.

Wanna bet? He's obviously never read hibs.net then! :greengrin

Checked this link:

Note about half-way down the page -

"Paul Forsyth has written...

More about 'rangers (http://www.hibs.net/search?q=rangers&j=paul-forsyth)' than anything else
A lot about 'rangers (http://www.hibs.net/search?q=rangers&j=paul-forsyth)' in the last month ....."

Probably accounts for a lot.

We're threatening his beloved OF ....

Sos is a rubbish read anyway! Important thing is that we won even though we didnt play at our best!

I don't really see a lot wrong with the report other than that he overstates his case re Bamba's and particularly Maka's dodgier moments.

I wasn't overly impressed by the Hibs performance either - even if we created a lot more chances we never looked particularly dominant.

I think one fact that is somewhat brushed over in the article is that even if Riordan did get injured (god forbid!) Hughes would still have his pick of Stokes, Benji, Nish and Byrne to play up front - a range of options that would have most SPL managers drooling with envy.

Nobody is taking us seriously yet not even as the 'best of the rest'. A situation that suits us and I'm sure Yogi.

Let Dundee Utd, Motherwell and Aberdeen be the media darlings and we can just quietly keep on getting results thank you very much:cool2:

Yip, I would be delighted if people (even on here) keep trotting out the "we're playing crap" mantra whilst we're still winning games and others around us are slipping up.

I do not care how we get points at this stage of the season, not one iota. I'd take the same results in the last 9 games for the next 9 games with not a problem. We need points on the board if we're still there or there abouts come mid February not one person on here will remember the performances of 4 or 5 months ago.

I know that we have some of best talent in the league, this talent will win us football games especially as we have a defensive rock to build on and an enormous will to work hard.

Very difficult game again next week but one that I'm sure that we can once again win.

The report is an accurate reflection of the game, and Hibs performance.

Woeful really.

Hibs? The biggest soft touch in Scottish football. Winning ugly. Who'd have thunk it, eh?

Agree entirely. I notice Chick Young, on the BBC website, talks about Dundee United's potential as league challengers (well, actually, despite the article being supposedly about that, he talks almost entirely about the OF..) without mentioning Hibs or Motherwell once.

I still don't think we have the solidity or the staying power to make a serious challenge on the league, but it doesn't hurt not being rated. The worst thing for us would be if we were to be hyped by the media. If this does happen then we'll know the OF biased media really ARE worried!!

I often read reports in the SOS that are repeated almost word for word in the Herald, and have often wandered if they share copy to save on sending reporters to all the games.
