One of the guys who I go to the games with hadn't received his swipe card by this morning, so he contacted Hibs.

"Come in before the game and we'll give you a ticket until we get the card issued to you", was the helpful reply. "What's your seat number?".

"West Upper, RR 999", says my friend.

Long silence.

"Er, sorry, sir, we seem to have sold your seat for the Falkirk game".

I should point out that Hibs have given the 3 of us tickets together in the Executive seats to make up for their mistake.

Do we need to dress smart like or will the usual dancing gear suffice

Right, my seat number is West Upper, RR 998 - wonder if I can score some freebies too - think they`ll catch on in the ticket office????

Just wear your nice frock again, John.

I recall a time when a few of us turned up early for an evening CIS cup game and told them at the turnstyle we were together so we could get seats together but he fanny on the turnstyle put 2 together and 1 miles away in another seat. When it got to kick off and we realised there were no spare seats for us to sit together, I complained to a steward who moved us to the comfy seats no questions asked!

I thought a lot of that and am a keen believer that it's not the mistakes you make (we all make them) it's how you make it right.

My mates were sold seats for the AEK Athens game that didn't exist. Spoke to the steward who was frazzled but said he would sort it, and he did.

The solution? He put the two of them in the AEK Athens technical area.
