He's got experience of polishing up a turd or two - see what he's done for Unirea Urziceni. Not a great team but who can argue that they're not punching well above their weight. Sort of person who could do a job for us, I reckon. Discuss.

They guy doesn't have much experience in the game but could still do a job..The freshness could be the best thing for us but the problem is that IF he does well the he will be off and we'll be back to square one....

Yep , I wouldn't be against Petrescu - we could do a lot worse.

I still think that the major problem at the moment is the lack of quality players so whoever is appointed will have a job on his hands to mould a successful team from the scant resources that are available.

Would rather have him than the likes on Jim jefferies. But is this just his way of getting more noticed and hoping to land a job in England.

Of course it will be! As it will be for probably every manager interested in this job. It gives a manger a platform to show what they can do, and get a big move onto the premiership. It doesnt matter who gets the scotland job, the facts are if they do well, they will move on.

Only one flaw in this plan - the man shows no signs of insanity/personality disorder. Surely prerequisites for the Scotland post?

Maybe with Jim Jeffries as the exception.

How come? 'Cos he's not Scottish?

I suppose so yeah! A daft knee-jerk reaction sorry. The trauma of Bertie still lingers!

I've no objection to a foreign manager actually and looking at his stats I would say Petrescu is well qualifed.

He is still the only guy to play in an FA Cup final that had a TV Programme named after him. :greengrin

"Sky Sources" were saying the same earlier. I think he's out of contract in January.

An odd story. The west coast media trying to upset Rangers' opponents a couple of weeks after they've played?

Marco Van Bastens agent has said he is interested!

Why would the SFA employ an agent as national team manager?!
