Near spluttered my beer oot when i seen rangers line up 3-4-3 but that lastd all off 10 minutes as Whitts dropped back to cover them on the right wing. He should not have bothered. Neither tackled nor showed him outside. Back to being a ropey midfielder.:hahaha:

The Scottish fans for treating his national call-up as a piss take and gesturing like a petulant child.

For what it's worth, I think he's a cracking keeper, who is at least deserving of a number 2 position behind Craig Gordon.

Certainly better than Marshall or Clangfield.

I don't think he needs to apologise to the fans for that TBH - it was 4 days before the next match and we forgave Brown quick enough. If the fans are upset it's their problem - must've been molly-coddled as a bairn or something. :greengrin

I think that the media tried to make us believe that it was a finger up to the nation - really it was a finger to them (the media).

You know the guys - the ones that we moan about all the time for twisting stories about Hibs and our players.

Obviously his hun-ness makes things worse for him - if he played for somebody else you'd probably have forgiven him already, if you'd moaned about it in the 1st place.

Rangers were taken apart and really shown up tonight against Stuttgart (as has also been the case against Unirea Urziceni and Sevilla before them) and it's a really sobering thought that no other Scottish team would have done any better, including Hibs.

Not sure if it is the same people but some say they want Rangers + Celtic to leave but still want them to do well in Europe.

If we want Hibs to do better we should want Rangers + Celtic to weaken.

A strong Rangers and Celtic does not equate to a strong Hibs.

So, if your priority is Hibs surely you should want Rangers + Celtic to fail in Europe?

The co-efficient would be the only argument and even that doesn't matter too much if we can end up above them in the league due to their demise.

I want Rangers + Celtic to get beat in every competition the play in.

The demise of Rangers is really quite alarming, as it could have a horrendous impact for jobs at Burberry, Lees (makers of the macaroon), Scottish Courage (makers of the legendary Ibrox staple White Lightning) and Buckfast. I also fear for the Greggs steak bake if Ally McCoist departs the sinking ship.

Who gives a toss about the currants.............they are a disgusting little club and I always hope they get pumpetty pump pumped, whether it's in Europes, or at QOS in the League Cup...........fanstastic that they are out of Europe and getting deeper into the mire IMO

Most German football fans like Scottish football but for most Germans Scottish football is only Rangers and Celtic. Only few here know anything about the Hibees or other Scottish clubs. So I’m an exceptional case because I always wear my Hibs scarf or shirt during matches of the VfB. When our fans first saw that scarf they thought that it was a Celtic scarf but now most of the fans close to my place know which team I support beside VfB.
Most German fans also dislike Bayern and most of us hope that they’ll lose in European cups. Clubs from Germany will never have enough money to compete against the best teams from England, Spain or Italy. And so it’s bad for our domestic league if Bayern will earn too much money during their CL campaign. For German clubs the only possibility to win some silverware are the domestic competitions. I think in Scotland the situation is a little bit the same. Also Scottish clubs won’t win the CL but if Rangers and Celtic are too strong like they have been during the last decades even the domestic competitions become boring. And this won’t help to improve the level of the game in any country. So I think for Scottish football in general the problems of the old firm might be a chance to improve, especially for clubs like the Hibees.

I watched the game last night and thought, if this is the leader of the SPL, so what are the level of the other teams in Scotland now? Shocking...

I get why Boyd shouldn't (see above posts :greengrin).

What did McGregor do that was worthy of a lifetime ban? In effect he got a 15 year ban for getting caught having a bevvy 4 days before a match.

No, he showed total and utter disregard for the manager, fans and other players. They didn't just go out for bevy also, they stayed up all night on the lash within the week of a big game. They're supposed to be professionals ffs.

An apology for that would have be suficient imo. But to then act like a ***** child and give the v's to the whole nation is soemthing that can't be forgiven any time soon - without a groveling apology imo.

If he apologies, and accepts his mistake(s) and will settle for 2nd or 3rd choice keeper then fine. If not, GTF :grr:

Edit: Just realised that this was a fishing trip - enjoy yer late catch ya bassa :P

100% agreed!

Still stand by the point I made that the media turned it into a “vickys at the whole nation” debate. He didn’t he stuck them up at the media. The same media rags that we “wouldn’t wipe our ***** with” etc.

Do you think the others that stayed up all night should get lifetime bans as well? Or does it only matter if you get caught?

There's a thread on FF discussing the future Rangers captain. I was under the impression that Thomson had been made heir-apparent, but they are now talking about him getting the heave-ho sooner rather than later.
