Vauxhall want £155 to service my wife's Corsa and that's just an interim service.

Is there somewhere cheaper to go that will do the same job?

Her car may also need the brakes looked at, so that's a consideration too.

I'd imagine most garages will be cheaper than the car makers garage.

A lassie I know has a merc and she went to the merc garage and she was quoted around £550 for an mot.

She went to a local garage who provided the same parts for less than £200. Not merc parts but ones that do the job.

They always seem to charge more.

You should find out the parts you need and call Eskside motors out at Dalkeith. I usually get my service parts for an MR2 for around £25/£30.

Anyone know of an independant garage that can service a Citreon Piccaso and reset the "service due" timer ? All has to be avove board to continue my warranty.

On a side note- I got my other car serviced by "One Call" , Picked up from my door and returned to my door later in the day washed and hoovered:thumbsup:

Be careful if the car's new. Getting it serviced by a non-approved garage can make the warranty void - check the small print.

I'm sure a mechanic friend of mine told me that it doesnt effect the warranty anymore. I may have picked him up wrong though

Booked into Scotts on Gorgie Road as per advice from H18sry.

Try the ATS garage on Gylemuir Road. I believe they are quite reasonable.

I used to take mine to one down at Lochend - down that one way street that comes out near the foot of Smoky Brae - can't remember the name of the garage or the street, but it's the only one down there IIRC.

:agree: Allan's MOT Centre. Next door to the Bunch O' Roses. Bill Newlands is the guy who runs it. Cracking service and top notch work. Been taking our two cars and assorted taxis there since 1991. Never had a shoddy job done. :top marks

I've always taken my jag to a jag dealer for servicing but they were wanting £480 for a full service this year:faf:

Went onto the garages4you comparison website which led me to Clan garage at Murrayfield which had top feedback from users. Good choice, top guys, no bull****, good price. Will deffo go back there.
