Should be good!

Any idea at what time these two pugilist specialists are going to be in the squared circle showing us the sweet science??

Not a boxing fan tbh, but thought I'd watch it after the hype after he decked Hatton.

Pacman was way too smart for cotto. speed and angles were awesome.

cotto has habit of giving in when the chips are down...just like against margarita....had Pacman to win after 6.:greengrin:thumbsup:

great fun watching in a room full of Filipinos too!

Manny Pacquiao is an absolutely outstanding boxer and will rank among the legends of boxing come the end of his career. He is never dull to watch, always on the offensive and lightening quick. Technically brilliant.

He dismantled one of the best and toughest welterweights around last night and I was shocked at how easily he did it, I was expecting a much harder fight for Pacman.

A Pacquiao v Mayweather Jnr match up has to happen next year. I have never gotten up to watch a live fight in the US not involving a British fighter but I will drag myself out of bed to watch that for sure. Mayweather Jnr is absolutely brilliant in both attack and defence and I would favour him but who knows.

To think this guy used to fight at LIGHT FLYWEIGHT!!!

habit? Sorry Callum but that's absolte rubbish. Cotto went down on one knee(one of the worst things a boxer can do in terms of pride) once in his career against a fighter later found out to have had metal strips in his bandaging. The cuts inflicted on his face that night were horrendous and with hindsight no wonder he downed tools. Since then he fought and the worst cut reopened needing 14 stitches.

Although (like Hatton) he couldn't believe Pacman could possibly have the strength to topple him, he was over-run but showed amazing courage to hang in and probably even took the 11th round.

As Jim Watt said in commentary, he appeared to have accepted he had lost the fight was determined to see the fight out, yet the ref jumped in when he took a heavy blow at the start of the final round. As he had not hit the canvas or wobbled it seemed harsh by the ref.

Total respect to Cotto - he's a tremendous fighter who has had his self-belief taken from him by a cheat. He should call it a day now.

he is now.

Forgot, can see Ricky Hatton making a comeback fgeared towards a return v Pacman as he will now have the confidence to go in at the bigger weight.

Does anyone know where I can get a rerun of the fight?

I never went out last night and didn't want to watch it via stream incase the quality was pish and therefore getting up at 4am for nout.

My mates text me the result this morning and I wanted to try and watch it without knowing. :grr:

Is it worth watching the full fight or just the last round?

Yip worth watching, although pachao was superb and won quite easily in my opinion. He proved his quality once again. The mayweather fight will be awesome.

Just watched it. What a start to the fight, the first 4 rounds were immense.

Does mayweather not need to beat someone else before the pac man fight?

With Mayweather's counter attack and Paquaio's attack it could be a great fight. A superfight like that is always set up to let you down, hopefully it doesn't.

What ever happened to Margarita? Remember that he had suspected plaster of paris wraps (as opposed to a horseshoe!) against Mosely but was anything ever proven and did he get banned/fined? - just looked it up and he got a 1 year ban - should be frozen out of the game for life after that.

Pac-man was simply outstanding last night and even took a few good punches. Cotto should have been pulled earlier but then should have been allowed to finish.

Mayweather/Pacquiao would be fight of the decade for sure. Expect Sky to go pay-per-view for that (actually surprised they didnt charge for last night).

Can the forum please move away from this embedded video *****? Does my nut in.

Anyway, back to the point. What comments are you referring to? I'm looking at the video on the youtube site but don't know what you mean.

I thought the boy was already caught for using plaster on his wraps or was that from another fight?

Yes it was a good first 4 rounds. Paquaio was a class above i thought, too quick and mobile for cotto. I'm not sure on mayweather, but presume he will beat whoever is in front of him, to set up this fight with paquaio. That will be one to look forrward to.

I hope Mayweather will accept a fight was Pacman.

2 incredibly quick boxers.

I hate Mayweathers over devensive style, but you have to give him dues for his technical ability.

There will be alot of pressure (well there already has been) on Mayweather to take on another top fight....check youtube for 'radio host owns Mayweather.'

As for Pacman....you cant help but like him....humble, charasmatic, and an excellent boxer.

Remember he started off as a FLYWEIGHT.

we had to pay for the fight over here in NZ, but id pay everytime to watch Pacman.

best fight ive seen in a while....:greengrin

the comment made by the original poster (on the right hand side). IIRC it say more for more details.

You were right, Margarito was caught at a later fight but because the savage beating metted out to Cotto was so above form for Margarito it has raised suspicions he used the same con trick.

:agree: I remember watching the fight and being totally mystified as to the state of Cottos' face. They were both landing heavy shots but Cotto looked like he had been beaten with a sledgehammer. There is little doubt in my mind that Margarito was using loaded wraps that night.

The bit in bold is to me a bit of a myth that surrounds Mayweather that he ducks fights. He took on and beat the best at the lower weights, like Manny, and when he went up to Welter he has beaten a prime Castillo, a prime Judah, a prime Baldomir and a fully conditioned Hatton. He also went up to 154lbs to take on a non weight drained De La Hoya.

People tend to forget that Floyd started off at super featherweight and has been as high as super welter/light middle. The man is a technical boxer of the highest order and whilst i think Manny would be his toughest fight i just can't see past a Mayweather win. Provided the fight is fought at the proper welterweight limit with no stupid contractual clauses of course.

"Skills pays the bills"

Mayweathers an erse of the highest order.....if he really got $12 mill for his fight, hes sorted for life.

No doubt he's a ducker....the guy on the radio got it spot on the money....and made Floyd look like a right knobber.

no doubt Mayweather is a class boxer....how good? Well we will never know if he doesnt step up.

This 'contracted weight' etc....Cotto came in at 146lbs against Margarita....145 against Pacman.

Pacman has never ducked anyone, ever.....look at Freddy Roach calling out Mayweather right after the fight.

Will he step up? I bloody well hope so!

Not that I think Pacman would destroy him, far from it.....Mayweather needs seriously tested, as he hasnt been for nigh on 8 years.

What a fight that would be though!!

nobody good enough to test him so far, can;t really see th epacman managing this one as fo rme the Cotto that fought at the weekend was as described in commentary 'damaged goods' after the Margarito debacle.

FMJ doesn't have any damage to his invincibility and self-belief.

haha, everyone Pacman destroys there is some kind of excuse to go along with it.

Only reason FMJ doesnt have any damage to his 'invincibilty' is because hes ducked his way through for the past 8 years.

Im sure 'Prince Naseem' could have been described in the same way before Barerra tore him a new one.

He looked class at times....why? coz his career to that point was managed for that purpose.

fight 100 nobodies and you have a 100/0 record.

Floyd knows hes a ducker...just listen to the radio interview.....you almost feel emabressed for him.....which, I think is a real shame,as we may never find out how good he really is.

I certainly dont think he is as good as he thinks he is though.

Pacman is a class act. I can see Mayweather avoiding him for a couple of years till he slows down a little.

Out of interest who has he ducked?

Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosely, and Miguel Cotto, Williams

Taking on a well past it Marquez too.

Co-incidence this was announced the same day as Pacman wasted Hatton?

I thinks not....!
