Looked like it on Saturday.

Launching the ball up into the corners to gain territory and hope it went into touch.

When they pressed some of the doubling and trebling up on our midfield resembled a scrum.

Looked like they were trying to score by putting the ball over the bar from every attempt.

They might have won if we were playing with an eggy ball.

In terms of the hoofball part we were just as bad! But just to slate hearts I will agree that they are a bunch of egg chasers. I reckon Nade would be a very good rugby player, imagine trying to stop him when he gets up to speed!

When, if, all the same.

Rugby's a good comparison to the way they played IMO. Their territory based game they played with the long throws from half way etc was very much like rugby (apart from the throwing it forward part!) - substitue a long throw with a kick from hand and it's the same.

As we all know they're a big physical team so they just played to their strengths.

Must be horrendous to watch every week though.

I think Bobby Williamson must be in with a shout as their next manager. We all know his views on entertainment. Made for each other.

:hmmm:

1. Every attack from a long punt in their half
2. Long Rugby like throw ins
3. Players constantly going for touchdowns (then getting freekicks)
4. Hitting the ball over the bar
5. Rugby like tackles (going for the man and not the ball)

Heart of Midlothian Rugby team. :agree:

In hoofball terms yup, Hibs were poor in the first half. Most of those, however, were just smashed up the park clearences, missing out a midfield that was heavily marked. In Hearts case there was a apparent game plan, launch the ball up the sides and pick up scraps from long throw-ins and corners.

We were rubbish until the six or seven times we got the ball on the deck and played it up. OTOH they were really great at their game plan and "if they had strikersİ" they might even have put the ball under bar. As it is they were better at putting it over.

I think they missing a trick and should take up egg-chasing under the funny goal post sport.

İEvery mumpy Jambo who thinks Vlad might spend even more dough they can't really afford.

It is but the mad one and shabby have them brainwashed.May account for them scoring so few goals. No creative midfielders or strikers. Its not rocket science but hey unlucky for them.

Have to agree that the stuff they play is absolutely horrible but the bit in bold is surely just good practice?

I think it's something that McBride and Miller do particularly well for us when we don't have possession.

They don't play rugby in the land of the Lith.

Basketball is their national game.....another big, physically challenged sport.

I think these allegations are absolutely outrageous.

An unconditional apology should be forthcoming straight away to all Rugby teams.

They don't necessarily double up and at the mo' Hibs midfield certainly doens't treble up - the pressing game has some good points but when played as tactic merely to upset play and player rather than win the ball it's pretty ugly. It's not the be-all and end-all is what I'm saying.

Saw them put together at least one decent passing move in the first half, the one where Stewart had a shot at the end of it. Might have gone over the bar right enough.

Csaba likes to promote himself as a tactician in the hope of attracting a decent club. The truth is; they are just a team of spoilers whose only tactic is to stop the opposition from playing. If they had varied a few of their corners, throw-ins and free-kicks they might have even got a goal from the game but they are too frightened to lose a goal so prefer to have the ball in the other half, whether they have possession or not.

:agree: It's a percentage game they play - get it down that end and one of them might make a mistake. If not we'll get a 0-0.

To be fair, Plan F knows he's in charge of a big, physical side so he's probably just going horses for courses with his rugby-esque tactics.
