As it stands right now, rangers are in serious trouble. staff at ibrox are worries at the state of affairs there. and there is talk of administration.

Is it me or would it be fantastically hilarious if we signed one of rangers players in the January transfer market. wouldnt have to be a big player but it would really rub salt into the wounds and give us something to have a laugh and sign about after all these years of embarrassment we have received by losing all our players to the old firm.

"Hibernian sign ........... as rangers sink further into trouble"

"All those years of selling there players to the old firm finally pay off for Hibernian"

"Rangers falling as hibs are on the up"

probably wouldnt gain much from signing a player from them as they are all p*sh but think of the fun!

Mendes!

Seriously though - if they went into administration I would love to see the SFA try to explain why they won't be demoted to Divion 3!

More chance of Hearts being £20 million in the black by next week!

They won't be allowed near administration. Labour seem to already be making such noises, saving Rangers could be a vital vote winner for them I'd suspect.

it might never happen but lets face it would it not be redemption for us if a situation like this came about? they are in trouble and until someone comes in to save them they will have to asset strip at some point. and as we have already been there we are no longer in a disastrous state and can feel optimistic.

If Rangers went into administration, the first thing that the SFA and SPL would do would be get their lawyers sifting through the rule books to find a loophole so that they would not get what they deserve [ like livingston]. This new story puts a different spin on all the Old Firm to the EPL guff that we had two weeks ago. Substitute two big fish in a wee pond, for another more appropriate water-based comparison. Drowning men-seek lifelines.

Labour seem to know what side their bread is buttered. If they don't support Rangers (non-nazi) then maybe the Orange Lodge might not hand out their campaign leaflets for them. (Not the Orange Lodge and Rangers have anyyhing to do with each other these days of course).

The rule's already there - no loophole necessary.

SPL Constitution, Section 1, paragraph 1: "All SPL clubs are equal, but Rangers and Celtic are more equal that the other ones."

Simples!

Can't see it myself, FR.

For one thing, it could only be in a Scottish context; the UK party wouldn't touch it for fear of setting a precedent for English teams.

There isn't an election due up here until...when?.... 2012? The Rangers thing will be played out by then.

Final nail is that, although Labour might get the Rangers vote, every other football supporter would probably vote otherwise in protest. They would also lose the massive Catholic vote they have in the Central Belt.

I agree. Can't see it happening.

They have too large a customer base, and too large an asset base (Ibrox, Murray Park, the players) for it to go that far.

They may, in fact already are doing so, have to endure a lot of financial pain for a few years. It's too big a cash-generating business, with a lot of potential, for it not to survive.

If rangers go into admin then they go into admin, there will be no loop holes they will get around there will be no sfa/spl bailing them out to stop them going into admn for 1 simple reason.

its in the laws that they MUST be decucted at least 10 points is it? all the other teams who have went to admin recently, livi, well, dunfermline and dundee etc woudl ALL be takign them to court and /or reporting to fifa if rangers are 'let off' with it. possibly even the european courts where rangers wuld have no influence what so ever.

IMO there is fluck all anyone will be abel to do unless a buyer comes in ranger looked donald ducked and they deserve everythign they get fcor outspending for so many years.

Thats what bugs me! If they went into admin they have a "punishment" of 3 losses and a draw! They'd still be 2nd in all bar a few seasons in the last 20 odd years.

Should be minimum of 20pts imo.

Clubs going into admin have 99% of time been cheating.

Anyone that thinks that Rangers would EVER be deducted points must be living in cloud-cuckoo land.

Almost every week, Rangers fans are guilty of singing sectarian songs. What punishment have they EVER received from the SFA/SFL/SPL? When is this even MENTIONED in the media?

OK, say you don't care if they sing those songs if you like, the point I'm making is that there are clear rules against them but nothing is EVER done, or even discussed. Sorry, but there IS one rule book for Rangers(possibly Celtc as well, but that's another discussion) and another for everybody else.
