What number did each of them normally wear? e.g. Smith 7, etc.

Although the famous five line up(in later year)at the top of the screen is correct -the one on the matchday is Smith,Turnbull,Reilly,Combe and Ormond. The same picture incorrectly labelled Famous Five is festooned around Leith.

However, in the classic photo of the "The Five" training at ER, the numbers on the kit were :-
Gordon Smith 13
Bobby Johnstone 15
Lawrie Reilly 16
Eddie Turnbull 17
Willie Ormond 18

You are correct Kp but I don't think they ever played under those squad numbers. I have the very photo you refer to and I also have photos with the 7,8,9,10,11. (in action) This is the best I can do on this front, historian I'm not. So for that reason, I'm out
P.S also you played for the jersey in those days, you didn't have squad numbers...
Squad numbers were not used on match days.
If you were picked to play on the right wing, you wore 7, even if you weren't Gordon Smith.

Judging by the tone of your question, I'll guess two. What's the answer? :dunno:

If anyone can come up with another decent image of the 5 together, I'll happily swap that for the "bukta" line up (with Combe) on the offending banner.

Of the 12 league matches indicated on Londonhearts site, the 5 definitely played together in 4 of them:
2-1-1950 2-1 to Hearts
22-9-1951 1-1 draw
20-9-1952 3-1 to Hibs (Reilly hat-trick)
1-1-1953 2-1 to Hibs
the famous 5 definitely didn't all play in 5 of the 12 matches, and in the remaining 3 matches, the teams are not listed however all five are not mentioned in the respective match reports. It is possible they all played but I can't find confirmation (even on D's site).
So as far as I can establish, the confirmable record of the famous five in League matches is:
played 4, won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1
which makes the comment "Surprisingly one of only 2 times the FF won a competive Derby." a tad misleading

Misleading which might, if it wasn't for LHWM's generally outstanding contribution to this site, be thought to border on the yampertinent.

The only other time the 5 played in a competitive game v Hearts was 23rd September 1950 Scottish League at Easter Road when Hearts won 1-0. It makes their record W2 D1 L2 I suppose.
