A skilled, impartial and athletic referee who I know all Hibees everywhere will be delighted to see take charge at the weekend:thumbsup:

The man is definitely the worst referee in Scotland right now; too may cards, too may stupid decisions and a big old tit to boot. I remember seeing him escorted out the ground by the polis once when we BEAT the opposition handsomely (3-0, Motherwell I think) - man he was baaaad that day and has got no better since.

Big auld tube he is :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall

I actually think Richmond could help us. I think the guy gets weird pleasure from making the crowd angry. Just have to hope he baits the bears and we can keep frustrating them.

I used to think Richmond was decent but the same happened to him that happens to a lot of referees. They have a few good games and are applauded for them. Phrases like "Best referee in Scotland" are banded about and all of a sudden they think people are turning up to watch them. They start flashing the cards, become more confrontational and arrogant and ultimately make a c*** of it.

Dougall and Young are 2 prime examples. Get promoted to UEFA cup games and start thinking they are the centre of attention.

Oh well, cheerie bye to any remote chance of getting a competent, non attention seeking, self important prat refereeing our games.

Worst referee in Scotland, joined at the Head Table of rank Incompetence by Iain Brines.

I've been told that too. He's still a really, really incompetent tosser of a referee though. If he genuinely is a hibby, you have to wonder if he is overly harsh on Hibs to avoid any accusations of bias.

Whatever, he is the worst referee in the SPL IMO. Whatever he gets paid these days, it is 100% too much.

Hopefullly, he will have a few howlers that go in our favour. Not holding my breath...

On the day of the CIS Cup Final in 2007 Charlie was the fourth official. Dougie Macdonald (another Hibby) was in the hot seat. As they are permitted to do the refs had a batch of tickets for friends and relatives.

At the awards ceremony at the end the officials went up to collect their medals. Dougie maintained a relatively straight face but Charlie boy was grinning from ear to ear like a Cheshire Cat. His Hibby mates in the crowd called out to him and oor Charlie gave them a big thumbs up.

When it comes to games between us and the Old Firm both referees are professional and show us no bias - as the stats show
