not seen him on the telly recently and im unsure if he has a fight coming up,but if anyone was a pro boxer for x amount of years and then bang stopped training* then im sure most boxers would struggle with there weight.

* i assume he has stopped training due to his lack of fights and as somone else above has said i think he premoting now

RH has notoriously struggled with his weight between fights. Perhaps when he was younger he could just get away with dropping a fair bit of weight for a fight but it probably hasn't helped him as he has gotten older.

If he has hung up the gloves for good then fair enough. If he has any intention of fighting again at the top level then he isn't helping his own cause.

ye thats so true mate but the point i was trying to make is im sure he has NOT been training too hard you know?if say he was training for a fight he would be in the gym for x amount of hours, for x amount of days and running for x amount of miles most days and then suddenly stop or tone it down it ll have an effect on your body, just like now

Gay. The boy slaps his own head at the same time as he gets hit to make an 'impact'!

I have seen the PBF one against the Big Show and that looked like a real bat IMO.

The Floyd Mayweather one was real...Big Show had a legit broken nose after that.

But yeah, that Hatton one wasn't great to be honest.

Just read both Bret Hart's and Eric Bischoff's books recently, makes me long for the good old days of wrestling between about 97 and 2001. Great days, never to be repeated sadly :boo hoo:

Yeah.

Even watching some of the old tapes now a days it is still entertaining. Its painfull watching it now. A shift in 'target audience' and a lack of competition has killed wrestling big time.

you get the old smackdown/raw episodes from the good old days aswell as the paperviews, annoying thing is they can be in like 7-8 different parts but well worth it

His wee brother fights tonight - it's on Sky Sports at 10pm. I’ve never seen him fight before despite him being on the undercard for Hatton’s big fights. From what I’ve read he’s out of his depth tonight.

I got the Bret Hart one and couldn't put it down. An excellent read. Not got the Bischoff one yet. Any good?

Bischoff's one is not bad yeah. Could've went into a bit more depth maybe, but overall it was good to get things from the 'other' point of view.

It was a draw. Hatton probably scraped it but the judges disagreed.

M.Hatton is spewing.

I thought Matthew Hatton was terrible. Landed a few decent blows but as NDou said at the end he was throwing loads of punches that never scored in fact he kept throwing a series of girly slaps that were a joke.

No doubt he was desperate for a win to project him into the big time ranks where he could make a few quid before finding out he would be miles out of his depth.

I watched Hatton fighting on the undercard in Las Vegas and couldn;t believe he got the nod there.

Have to say, I'd find it hard to be interested in watching any of his fights in future.

On a far better punchers angle...see the Cello v Simpson scrap? amazing - never seen or heard anything like it in my life..

If hes happy with his weight then its up to him i say, but think he should stay retired now he has made his cash the weight he drops before fights cant be healthy for the human body and the weight he gains after, time to be a family man ricky :agree:.

He gave it a great shot and went for the big fights. It would only diminish his status if he goes out and gets beat by some nobody because of his physical condition.

I can't see where the motivation would come from to go and fight Joe Bloggs after being in the ring with PFB and Pac Man. Although he may not want to retire on a loss.

The Hatton fight wasn't great - but he did land more punches, the other guys were probably of a higher quality though.

The other 2 guys KO'ing eachother at the same time was quality.

even thought he lost against PFB he did give it his best always gave 100% and he lost to the two best fighters in the world that is nothing to be ashamed off

As a so called professional athlete, Hatton's diet and way of life between fights was a disgrace and it came back to bite him in the bum twice against 2 world class boxers. You can't balloon up by 4 stones and then do a crash diet all the time and expect to keep your strength and stamina, which is vital for a boxer.

Whilst i agree with your main point, one thing that does annoy me is the myth that Ricky has ballooned in weight then lost it 40 times, in the early days he was fighting 4/5 times a year so putting on weight wasn't an option. It was only when he went bigtime and started fighting once or twice a year that this started happening. So he has probably only weight drained himself 8 times or so. Still a very stupid way to act though.

Maybe true but for a supposedly pro fighter to allow himself to bloat up like that is a joke, we can all put on loads of weight then take it off again but then again we're not fighting for world titles every 6 months.
