Hope his knee is okay - it looked a sore one.

I have to say though that the lad was already having a pretty bad day before that. I don't think I've ever seen one player beaten so often by another in one game. How many times did Zemmama beat him? It must have been well into double figures.

Yes but we still did not win the game?

Thought the exact same when i was watching the highlights. Turned inside out. There was one point when Zemamma was running rings round him and Wotherspoon overlapped. He looked like he didn't know if he was coming or going.

I have to say, we'd been linked with a few left backs that ended up elsewhere but I wouldn't take any of them over Ian Murray. I'd have the boy up at Aberdeen for his free kicks though.

Not a very good defender IMHO and i think we are covered for free kick specialists just now.

I've never watched 90 minutes where he's been playing but when i watch the highlights, he seems to score a good few free kicks.

Wasn't this the boy that some on here were raging that we missed out on when he signed for the Arabs?

Pretty sure you're right. All Quiet on that front though....

On the subject of full backs ------- I don't know the guys name but the Motherwell right back looked a class act. He would make a very handy addition to the squad.

We can always wish I dare say!

What about the time with Mixu constantly beating Niemi?

That's Yassin Moutaouakil who is on loan at Motherwell from Charlton Athletic. Good player :agree:

Papers say Dixon will be out for 6-8 weeks with medial ligament damage. He will have a scan tonight.

And FWIW, he will IMHO play for Scotland, move on to better things for a decent fee. We don't have a LB that will tick those 3 boxes.

IM's better at CH or CM than LB IMHO

Agreed. Unless of course they put him on the same diet as Craig Conway!

Good news for us is that it means Dillon will start and he's a liability IMO

Shame about his injury. It was a brave challenge to make. Speedy recovery hopefully and at least not cruciate damage.

To your other points though. I'm not convinced from what I've seen that Dixon is any better than Paul Hanlon who IMHO is every bit as likely to do what you suggest Dixon will.

Whilst Paul's not the finished article by a long way and has had a few tough games to deal with in his time, I don't recall seeing him take a full 45 minute ripping like Dixon did from Zouma on Saturday!

I wasn't sure on the amount of time but when we played Barca, he got torn to shreds by Messi(Not comparing zouma to Messi or anything) but that must have caused some blow to his confidence!

Who knows - you could be right TQM. My opinion is that he looked about as far out of his depth as it is possible to do against us. Maybe he was just unlucky coming up against Zouma but he will have to learn a heck of a lot if he's to hit the heights as you suggest he might.

Murray, IMHO, is the best left back at the club just now. Hanlon's good, but Murray edges it, for me.
