Especially aimed at the thoughts of the Bobcats and the politically cynical, what are your thoughts on Dylan bringing out a Xmas standards album and also donating the entire worldwide proceeds to feeding families at this particular time of year.:cool2:

Bob's stealing ideas from Conor Oberst is he? :greengrin

I also bet serious money it's not as good as Sufjan Stevens' five Songs For Christmas E.P.s.

I don't really think prostitution and christmas are appropriate bedfellows, and would urge all right thinking people to boycott this album.
Is this right?

FR, I`ve got mine ordered, i`ve heard snippets and it sounds pretty good bound to be better than Down In The Groove, proved them all wrong as a DJ!
Just heard some snippets, like it....especially "have yourself a merry little Christmas".....

From the snippets I've heard it could be the best Album Bob's written, up there with Blood On The Tracks and Blonde On Blonde.

Sounds like the old bluesman he has always wanted to be for a while now, the album sounds like a lot of fun, though not on the present disc as far as i know it is great to see Charlie Sexton back in the band, who knows maybe even Larry Campbell and Jim Keltner will return.

If he`d covered Rea`s Driving Home For Xmas it would have undoubtedly have been received as a masterpiece.

I have every faith it'll be decent. If not, who cares, just stick the Freewheelin Bob Dylan or Highway 61 on and the world will be alright again:greengrin

I'd be quite interested in hearing it - and may even buy it from what is being said.
After this it wouldn't surprise me if he did the half time show at the Superbowl - that would be something to see.

Or better still maybe Rod will ask Bob to make the halftime draw at Easter Road.:greengrin
