Would have a taken the point before hand though a little disapointed given the first half from Hibs should have seen the game wrapped up.

Still, I've been keeping my spirits up by reading the match update thread on Kickback. It's quite an amusing read :agree: The hanging smiley is getting a fair old bit of use there.

I'm still gutted, big test today but was still hoping we had enough quality to beat UTD at home! :boo hoo:

hibee_girl
03-10-2009, 04:18 PM
I would have taken a point before the game but in all honesty we should have had all 3 points today.

We were by far the better team, in the first half especially. If only Deek's sitters had went in the net.

Zemmama ran the show in the first half tho in the 2nd half it was clear that Utd had been told to take him out the game.

Our midfield is still a concern, far too lightweight and at times McBride was the only one making tackles.

Surprised Yogi didn't make any changes to the team, we were crying out for it

Speedway
03-10-2009, 04:20 PM
It's playing out like Yogi said it would, win one week, lose the next, draw the next, win the next etc until we get that mentality of winners.

I'm happy with a point today I must admit.

4 points from our last two games against teams who are around us in the table, I'm happy with that.

Westie1875
03-10-2009, 04:23 PM
To be fair I'd have taken a draw before the game, should have won it though. 2nd in the league (at least until tomorrow, or for 2 weeks if the smellies can do the business) is nice though! :greengrin

CalgaryHibs
03-10-2009, 04:25 PM
Say how did Hearts get on today ???

Sylar
03-10-2009, 04:26 PM
Not a disaster, and, considering the weather, ANYTHING could have happened today.

We're in second (probably until next week, as I can't see Rangers beating Smellick) and have a tie against Rangers coming up, which will be another good indication.

An improvement of sorts I suppose.

Under Mixu, Collins or Mowbray, I'm pretty certain we would have lost this one.

PapillonVert
03-10-2009, 04:35 PM
Well, not entirely happy as it seems we could have and should have had 3 points.

Overall, though, I think we are generally heading in the right direction. I am not one of those who expects Yogi to work miracles overnight but I am sure he has been working out who he wants to keep going forward and who he can let go and where he needs to strengthen etc. I get the impression he is a pretty shrewd guy and can figure out who the shirkers are and who are the ones who will put in the effort and be prepared to work to improve themselves.

So, I am cautiously optimistic and prepared to give Yogi some time (this season) to see if he can bring some progress. To be honest, if Yogi can't sort this bunch out then I am not sure if anyone can! Also, he's starting from quite a low base (from a general HFC perspective) and so I am happy to give the guy a chance to prove himself.

Did anybody hear Yogi's comments about Zemmama after the game? "I tell the wee man, I'll tell big Allah on you"! :faf:

shamo9
03-10-2009, 04:41 PM
I thought the ref should've offered Zemmama a little more protection, particularly in the second half when it turned into a wrestling match at times.

The only player that I felt was a little below par today was Benji, his touch can be very inconsistent and he has a habit of fading out of the game when things aren't happening for him.

Difficult day for football.Considering the physical difference in the teams e stuck to it pretty well. A second goal in the first half and we would have won-their goal was lucky and still nearly stayed out.
