Absolutely - had the privaledge of meeting Joe once and what a fantastic gent he was - all the time in the world for the fans and humble, courteous - all these things in spades as well.
A footballing great who never forgot where his roots lay - a real star IMO - RIP Joe

Was just thinking the same the other day I also had the privelege of meeting and chatting to him, one of the best who appreciated how fortunate he was to be playing proffesional football. Always conducted himself with dignity. There are a lot of players today who could and should take a leaf out of his book.

We had the pleasure of taking Joe to Highbury about 10 years ago. Arsenal did Joe proud, directors' box tickets & a double centre page programme spread on the great man. After the game Joe disappeared & I eventually found him ( directed by none other than Arsene Wenger ) in the boot room with Pat Rice, John Barnwell & a bunch of young players.
Pat & Joe were engrossed in conversation when one of the young lads kept pushing Pat to take a phone call, pointing upstairs to indicate the call was from someone important. Pat finally took the phone & said " look, would you !!!! off, I'm taking to a Legend ".
I don't think there's any doubt at all, Joe was & remains a Legend.
