Motherwell (A)

Dundee Utd (H)

Kilmarnock (H)

Rangers (A)

Aberdeen (H)

Hearts (A)

Likely to be a very interesting- and challenging- run of games.

In the last couple of seasons 60 points seems to be the golden number to clinch third place.

Therefore, pick up 6 points from these games and we'd be on form to pick up 60+ points by the end of the season.

seems do-able to me

very tough games. Only good thing is the short international break.

I would be happy with 9 points from those games, 6 would be a bit pesimistic

absolutely, would never HOPE for 6 points, just saying that picking up just 6 points would be the sort of form- that if replicated over the season- would see us pick up 60+ points.

10 points would be a good haul, any more would be excellent imo

double figures would definately be a master stroke!
Im unfortunately away in Brighton for the Rangers game, and i seem to be a lucky charm when i go to Ibrox :

2 visits... aggregate...

Huns 0 v Hibs 6.

Don't want to make any predictions on the points, as I don't think we'll do too good in most of those games.

I think we'll beat Ranger's though.

Not sure how  15 points after 11 games would average out at 45 points before the break, leaving us needing to win our last 5 games for 60 points!

Considering how, almost without fail, our form seems to shade off after Christmas, I think 6 points from these games would be pretty calamitous TBH.

Based on what exactly?

them playing better football than us this season and our tendancy to start games badly this season.

I'm afraid that would only be true if we had 44 league games, instead of 38.

What's to stop us playing an extra six games and hoping they don't notice?? :greengrin

That's a good idea. If we play these games behind closed doors, maybe nobody will notice.

11 points would be the sort of return from those games you'd want to really show we are the team who will take 3rd place.

oh aye, apologies.

18points after 11 games, 36 after 22, 54 after 33,

so 9 points from next 6 games and it could be argued that we have a good shot/ squad for 3rd. obviously its still early though.

We should be aiming for at least fifteen points from those six games, no less.

Depends what Hibs team turns up, if it's the team that turned up against Hamilton who think they are better than everyone else so don't need to try we will be royally humped in each game. Hughes needs to have then 100% up for these games as Motherwell, UTD and Aberdeen will all be in there for 3rd come the end of the season so points against them are vital.

I'll go for between 7 and 10.

We should be aiming for 18 points. What we expect/get is likely to be much less but we should aim to win every game we play.

FWIW, I think we will get 9 points which IMHO would signal a reasonable start to the season, 12 or more would be fantastic and would really signal a serious challenge for 3rd.

6 points from 6 games. That's like saying you'd be happy if Hibs finished with 38 points at the end of the season.

They need to go out and try and win all 18 points from these 6 games.

I would think 18 points from 11 games in the three sets of fixtures plus 6 points from the 5 games after the break would mean either third or fourth place.

I think our second set of fixtures are harder than our first so I would be looking for 20. We have 9 from 5 so I would be wanting a minimum of 11 from our next 6.

Did us a lot of good against Hamilton. If we're playing well and are focused, it's the last thing we need.

I think it's pretty much impossible to predict how these games will pan out, and i'm not even going try. A lot depends on how quickly we gel and get with the passing game.

i dont think anyone would argue that hibs need to go out and try to win each game, thats a given.

i think we'll get more than six points, however this is a particularly challenging run.

In other words getting 6 points from these 6 games is different to picking up 6 points from the opening 6 games, considering the difference in quality of the teams faced.

:agree: Lets see how we get on at Motherwell becaue at the moment, I don't know what Hibs will turn up. If we get our act together, we should beat them, but having witnessed first hand the debacle at New Douglas Park, I'm not holding my breath.

The performance in any game is influenced somewhat by previous results so I couldn't say how these will pan out. If we get scelped off Well, I'd expect nothing less than a draw against Utd due to a foot up the erse.

Similarly, if we win at Well, expect a subdued performance against Utd... I've been watching Hibs a long time and these patterns always unfold.
